1. The thought of the DEMS congregating in B of A country turns me off. I don’t know how any one else feels, but after the hosing we’ve suffered at the hands of the Big Banks, partying in their town, no offense to the town, just doesn’t seem or feel right. Wasn’t ‘ there a more deserving place to hold the convention , like Atlanta or New Orleans?
2. Just returned from a visit to Washington, D. C. , after a hiatus of too many years. I was shocked and dismayed to see The Capitol , the houses of Congress and The White House behind heavily guarded stone walls. I thought these were “the people’s houses”? When did they become off limits to the Public? Fittingly, the Dept. of Justice is under renovation. I could only wonder if the renovations were interior as well as exterior?
3. It’s good to be at the center of money; Not New York City but Washington, D.C…. The city that l’Enfant designed is more magnificent then ever. The National Gallery, free of charge to the public is a wonderful space, combining the old and contemporary via a moving walkway under ever changing LED’s. A treat for the senses for sure. Additionally, There were no potholes to be found on their excellent toll roads. And The light rail line from the City to Reston, Va. Still being constructed rolls noiselessly through the center of the beltway. One can only wonder, if it’s good enough for Washington, why shouldn’t the rest of the Nation have these amenities?
4. LOL investigative reporting by Bill Moyers; 9/2/12. detailing the resurrection of Ralph Reed and his buddy Norquist. As they supported the Christian Coalition, they used the unsuspecting folks to fund their private schemes for wealth. This is their private game, anyone who supports them with money has been scammed. In their own words , folks who give to their causes are wacko’s? Now he thanks God and the 5 Conservative Supreme Court Justices for their decision to pass Citizens United. Makes me sick, 3rd Party anyone?
