Power to the People; given time we get it!

1. NYY Times Pakistanis united in outrage over Girl’s shooting by Taliban. Once again, something egregious has motivated a population to act responsibly. The people are revolted by the barbarian and cowardly act of the Taliban; which may lead to the shunning of this group. Proving Once again, that public opinion may be more powerful then bullets.

2. Heard at a Technion event, Iranians are moving toward energy independence. Though they have ample oil, they are not depending on it to power their cars. Who knew? The world is changing as all Nations look toward alternative fuels to power their lives. We can only ask, when does America develop an energy policy? We shouldn’t let old alliances and reliance restrict our future?

3. Ah well, another day and there is nothing in the news of compelling interest; the usual speculation on equity frauds, collusion at the top of M&A buy outs, The London Whale and it’s minor ramifications for Chase. Same old same old. Guess as I lay sleeping, skipping the debates, America’s problems have been resolved. Nothing to do but play and spend till the money runs out. Another typical day, work, what work? Hugged and cried with my housekeeper yesterday, as we found out for the second time during the recession, her husband has lost a job. They had plans to send one of their children to a private parochial school, now it may not be possible? My own foreman was forced to rent his home to pay the mortgage while his family of 6 moved to a 2 bedroom rental apartment. Nobody I know is living in their comfort zone, but why think about it. We just suck it up, move on and keep hoping for the best.

4. LOL As I was despairing, I read about Christine Lagarde, the IMF minister, who’ s turned pragmatic. FT10/12/12. She intends to ask for more time for the Greeks and other countries to pay back debts. Growing their individual economies is now seen as important. Bravo! Perhaps the cycle of austerity will be broken by innovative thinking to promote growth? Again, hope springs eternal.

  2. You actually make it appear really easy with your
presentation however I to find this matter to be actually something which I think I
might never understand. It sort of feels too complicated and
extremely vast for me. I am taking a look ahead in your subsequent submit, I will
try to get the cling of it!
