1. On 10/23/12 I attended a Conversation with Nobel Laureates: Joseph Stiglitz and Paul Krugman , I asked the same question of both of them: “. If you could do anything to bring our Country back to prosperity, what would you choose to do?”. Paul Krugman had Cap & trade on his to do list, along with Climate Change, job creation thru a private public partnership on infrastructure, plus tackle the shadow banking system. Joseph Stiglitz was equally concerned about job creation, but added the following to his list; eliminate Citizens United, simplify the tax code, tackle the student loan program and the derivatives, known as Mortgage Backed Securities .

2. NPR this afternoon, offered an exposé on the New Hampshire State House. The tone of their government has evolved from civil to shrill. When one member was boisterously removed fromThe House for mis conduct, he saluted ” Sieg Heil!”. Therefore, With the advent of these extreme politicians elected to office, the people are re- evaluating the state of their government and are saying openly, they’ve had enough bullying tactics. A grass roots movement to return to moderation and civility has been started.

3. The Financial Times11/2/12 Justice and a free press may co-exist in Greece. On the day, the Journalist Costas Vaxenanis stands trial for distributing the list of tax evaders in Greece, in violation of data protection laws, Greece’s Parliament was asked to investigate why two former finance ministers did not pursue tax evaders on the ” so called Lagarde List ” of 2000 Greeks with Swiss Bank Accounts.

4. LOL. The Financial Times oped 11/2/12 Superstorm Sandy sounds a warning.” New York is ill prepared for the impact of climate change. New York and it’s hinterland account for one third of the US economy. So the cost of Sandy like storms to economic output is huge. New York may have to accept that it can no longer get by with neglected infrastructure. One hopes this lesson is learnt before the next catastrophe.”
