PUBLIC ADVOCACY: Fear of risk is holding the Country hostage to ” bad ” policy

As the media diverts our attention once again from job creation and Obama ponders income inequality which his policies have exacerbated. Our attention is diverted by more articles then I can count: climate Change’s effects on Monarch Butterflies, penguins and polar bears; the rush to fracking without a means to transport gas products causing widespread disaster. The various conflicts around the World, plus a negotiated Peace settlement between Israel and the Palestinians. What’s an intelligent driven person to think about. After all these month’s of little information, I feel overwhelmed by the myriad problems presented, each one deserving attention, I’m sure, but as one individual , I can only concentrate on what I’ve decided is important.

Job Creation in America, is my topic Du jour, today and everyday, coupled with Financial and Corporate Reforms, that will make the market place less risky and will provide funds for job creation. That’s why I ‘m still amazed, as I walk through Main Street and see empty stores that our GDP keeps chugging along fueled by the stock market, dependent on the Fed Bond Buying policy.

The GDP is ,” up “until this last week,  registering economic growth at 3.2%. Belief in the ” phony” numbers continues, as Wall Street barrels ahead irrespective of dips, while Main Street lights flicker and go out. Not to worry, help is on the way . A study is to be commissioned to link job applicants with jobs.  Let’s give Biden a chance to develop a national Jobs Board ?   LOL:    I thought this was a great concept when Clinton mentioned there were 3 million jobs available , but no one qualified to fill them?

What ever happened to the ” job fairs” of the ’70’s , when major corporations , intending to hire new applicants, massed at the Coliseum and accepted pre screened applicants for review and jobs. That’s how I got my first job at FORD. the concept worked and I stayed with Ford for three exciting years. Hey, you never know.

As I recall, the 70’s were not great years for jobs either. The Country was in a period of Stagflation , part inflation, interest rates were climbing towards 16% and there were no jobs. Like a bad meal, history repeats. It doesn’t have to repeat ” bad policy”, Americans need a decent break, we need FDR like policies from government and the cooperation of Big Business. I no longer want to hear, Big Business is afraid to take risks? That’s why they make the big bucks.
