Last night I previewed the Documentary, “Crime & Punishment”, detailing “Stop & Frisk” practices, summons quotas and other means of unfair treatment of the African American and Hispanic youth, as the NYC Police dept. attempts to meet their budgetary needs of $900Million a year. Fear, corruption, ruined lives, there are many stories to be told and lessons to be learned by other communities across our Nation.
- Would a constructive citizen oversight committee be desirable to change our culture of unequal justice?
- There should be two conversations: Racial tensions and our State of Inequality.
