After my reunion with Purnima, my friend , last week , she suggested I consider Heartfulness Meditation!
Purnima introduced Victor Kannan to me. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia and is the Founder of the Heartfulness Institute that provides meditation and balance in people’s lives. Meditation teaches you to concentrate on yourself, developing awareness , of your weaknesses and strengths. Leading to a humble attitude, as we learn from our failures and successes, being grateful for who we have become.
This practice of self awareness, leading to love and sensitivity, was practiced by MLK, Mahatma Ghandi, ( Tolstoy was Ghandi’s mentor) Nelson Mandela & Mother Theresa. It takes courage to take right action. It isn’t easy to be calm, free & non violent.
Imagine Mother Theresa, she was brave & free to serve others. She was conscious of her role in doing good. It’s probably what John Lewis meant, when he asked us to not be afraid to get into “good trouble”.
Through meditation we expand and use our Consciousness to feel aware and enabled to do what is right.
The heart and pulse of “we the People”.
