Joyce America Speaks Periscope @11 am Monday Corporate Greed has divided us into groups, let’s take time to defend the besieged “white male”, too’

To the detriment of “we the People”, we have been segmented into groups. This division is not healthy for Americans. It does not contribute to a sense of shared journey in these United States. Instead it pits one group against the other as every group believes that the “other” group is the cause of their misery . In reality , it is corporate greed that has created loss of Jobs, poor health and education choices and Opioid addiction
It is a fact, bad government policy and corporate greed have splintered Americans wasting “human capital”  to America’s detriment.

Now ,  the poor , working poor and Middle Class white male considers himself a targeted group for mis treatment and feels under siege. ” He ” suffers from suicide, Opioid addiction, loss of dignity and has become part of the underemployed or unemployed. Many have slipped out of their comfortable Middle Class status and find it difficult to recover from Job loss. They were once Middle and upper Middle Management or workers earning a living wage and now they have nothing. Not even $400 in savings . They have indeed lost out in the American Dream!

To quote Robert Schiller , the economist, “we need to bring back the American Dream of a just society, where everyone has an opportunity to reach “the fullest stature of which they are innately capable.”

In defense of White Males at their prime earning years,  their 40-60’s, how could “established White Males” bar them from earning a living? I reproach a society that has no compassion or empathy for all it’s citizens.

White males are human, they deserve equal opportunity to earn a decent living , to seek mental health counseling , to be retrained at Corporate expense , to be provided with a basic living wage for survival and the recognition that they exist and “we the people” see them.

No group should be stereotyped! No group should be judged! Designating groups , has been bad for society and good for the perpetuation of a corrupt do “nothing for the people ‘ government and business structure.

Cleverly, politics on the right and the left have segmented our Society, creating groups who view other groups as the enemy. Someone else took their job or let them fall into despair. In reality, over 30 years, government has worked with Big Business to create divisions among Americans, allowing some people  to prosper at everyone else’s expense. Make no mistake, those who prosper cross Party lines , have no racial divisions and are bound by their common need for more!

Meanwhile, the rest of America is divided by Party lines and ethnic groups. What happens when any group suffers and is in distress? “We the People ” collectively suffer. Families suffer, their loved ones suffer and Society losses an entire generation of potential innovation.

  • We can’t afford to deny the existence of those we’ve left out.

Rather , we should act and act as quickly as possible to redefine the American Dream .  A society that cares for all it’s people and provides equal opportunity to all. As American greed runs unchecked , groups have self identified, making it more difficult for many to see beyond their beleaguered group. It is past time to address the needs of the poor and working class and the less prosperous Middle Class, white Males included. They too must regain a sense of purpose . Their loss is America’s loss.   The American Dream was based upon treasuring “human capital”, all human capital!

I marvel at the resiliency of other Nations, while I  shake my head in dismay when I think about the America I love. In the 70’s the happiness of the American worker was codified into law. Job stability was guaranteed by the Corporation. No worker worried when Corporate divisions were sold, counseling and another job equal to theirs was promised.  American management valued “human capital”.

How do we reward ” we the People”, who have been left out of Technology, IT, and Manufacturing? Study our history and the common practices found today in America and other Countries.

  • Solutions proposed date back to our founding fathers.   Thomas Paine, believed “Everyman ” should be given a basic living wage at age 18, to be applied toward education and then again at age 55 to be applied toward retirement.
  • Milton Friedman and other Economists have thought about using Helicopter money to alleviate the plight of the poor and Middle Classes. They proposed cutting a $10,000 check for the poor, working poor and less upwardly mobile Middle Class.
  • I’ve thought about QE ( Quantitative Easing) for this group of unemployed or underemployed persons, too!   Retire the Treasury’s “older bonds” totaling $1.7 Trillion and cut a check for154 million American’s earning $75,000 or lower for $12,000 each.
  • For more examples of ” Corporate ” largess, NY teachers , like the Danes working for Elsevier in the 1990’s, when fired , they were allowed to remain employed and take up residence in designated work areas where they continued to collect their pay and benefits until they found work elsewhere.
  • The Finns have continued unemployment benefits to engineers laid off by start up organizations, in order to encourage workers to take risks again, while maintaining their unemployment benefits . In this way the Finns encourage creative thinking , innovation and entrepreneurs , while maintaining individual monetary stability.

Much can be done to help our suffering distressed population, including ” white males” . In the process , by being generous, we help ourselves and achieve a better life.
Why dream small? We can save our planet , if we act locally and think globally.
Let’s start locally by acknowledging the plight of the white male too and act now to bring him back to full earning capacity along with everyone else!

Why not work together in a Bipartisan way to solve our problems,  rather then avoiding them. Let’s have compassion and empathy for those left behind.

I have faith in my fellow Americans. Once awakened, I’ve seen our can do spirit! Let’s take a deep breath and let each man achieve a small step forward so mankind can benefit and prosper. When thinking about America , let’s think about all Americans . Give our “left behind ” white males a chance to re enter society, too. It would be a win win for America.

See you on Monday and we’ll chat!

“the heart and pulse of the Middle Class”

The Voice of Joyce:#Say No Tax Cuts, Generate Revenue & Restore Equality. See you Monday @11am.

The problem solvers of Congress are a good beginning, representing 8% of our Statesmen and women. To swing votes toward the center, at least  25% of our Congressional Representatives should be willing to cross party lines for the benefit of “We the People”.  People before policy!

Many would argue that their Party is ” in the right” and therefore , there’s no need to compromise.  I believe we should put people before politics.  We’ve had recent examples of the ideologies of both parties. All but 3 Senators in the GOP were ready to destroy our existing healthcare system, even though 88% of the country wants to stabilize the ACA, make improvements to ensure delivery and lower costs to more individuals, thus making healthcare affordable to everyone.  This, in fact, was the original goal of the ACA (Obama Care): to utilize insurance companies to provide subsidized healthcare for Americans based on income, and decrease pharmaceutical costs.  If we expand Medicaid to all 50 states, we will increase healthcare enrollment from  6-25 million more Americans.  “We the People” are paying for the system indirectly through our tax dollars.

Next, I am still concerned with the enforcement of Dodd Frank.  I haven’t always been a proponent, favoring the simpler Glass Steagall Act.  I was concerned that enforcement of many important rules of Dodd Frank would be difficult and I have unfortunately been proven right.  According to the Financial Times on 8/1/17, Credit Default Swaps are re-emerging, unchecked once again.  I fear that these instruments of mass economic destruction, if left unchecked, could once again trigger economic collapse.  It is precisely this risk that I wanted to avoid with a tax on derivatives and hi-speed trades.  A 6% tax, which is not their entire spread, has the potential to provide at least $660 Billion in revenue to the Federal Government, enough to jump start many innovative infrastructure and cyber security programs. My goal is to create new jobs at all levels of income.

Noting the recent black out debacle in North Carolina and the halting of construction on 2 nuclear power in South Carolina, it is clear,  we should understand and implement new processes in construction.   To gradually replace fossil fuels and gas fracking, I would divide the $660 Billion subsidies these industries receive with new industries entering the renewable energy realm. It is unfair for taxpayers to pay for Westinghouse’s learning curve directly. This burden should be shared by all Americans.  In our time of looking inward and rebuilding, it is time to be patriotic and share the tax burden to grow America. We all benefit by being able to vacation on the outer banks of North Carolina or from advanced generation of nuclear power.  We should all pay for improving America. Taxation is a shared burden.  It isn’t shared now,  according to Thomas Pikettey and other Economists,  $13-23 Trillion may be hidden by the Uber wealthy, as they evade paying taxes.
Equal opportunity for all should be our goal!  Everyone benefits from healthcare; everyone should pay into the system. Uncap the income level for contributions to the “payroll tax”.  Tax the first million up to 7.5 %.  Let’s be fair!  Right now only the upper middle class is burdened.  Healthcare is everyone’s right and privilege.  When I had  hip replacement at HSS, friends of the Board were in the next bed!  We are equal and should share equally!

In order to maintain orderly transitions from one industry to the next, we should maintain jobs that would be otherwise lost when we cut subsidies.  This clearly was not  thought out as we pursued globalization. We  can,  however,  think and act upon the effects of worker displacement now.  For example, let’s consider an enhanced social safety net for those earning $75,000 or less annually. The Fed has over $4Trillion in bonds on their balance sheet. Why not retire $1.7Trillion of those assets and cut a check for $12K for 154 Million American families!  It’s a win-win for the country, since the working poor and the middle class spend, The money would also recirculate, creating and/or maintaining jobs.  This concept is not new.  Brazil paid their working poor monthly.  Some of the Scandinavian countries continue to pay unemployment benefits, encouraging laid off engineers and IT personnel to take a chance again and join start ups!
That’s why I advocate for bipartisanship, we must think outside our ideological boxes and use the best ideas from all people.  Think purple!  Why wait for a crisis when we can act on behalf of all Americans now.

See you on Monday and let’s chat about our wish list for our future,   yours and mine!

“the heart and pulse of the Middle Class”

Joyce America Speaks Periscope @11am Monday :Trump, Russia, ACA debate, Debt Ceiling & Tax Cuts ! Issues to solve in a bipartisan Congress!

We.are.in.crisis.mode.  If Trump and Congress fail to act in August, the ACA and 13 million people may suffer immediately. As the August deadline approaches, Congress should immediately reinstate the following ACA POLICES to maintain competitiveness in the insurance marketplace.

  1. The Individual Mandate:  All consumers, including young healthy people, should enroll and pay it forward. You never know when you will require medical care or medical care for a loved one.  Wouldn’t you want to know that you had helped to deliver less expensive health care to your family through your generosity?  Wouldn’t you want your kids to do the same for you when you’re older?  Pay it forward.  It will make you feel better!   More importantly, studies have shown that we must start preventive health care early in our lives.  Parents should take their child in for annual pediatric and young child checkups through the teen years.  Unlike other countries that practice preventive care, we generally do not and as a consequence our health outcomes have been considerably lower.  And an additional bonus, when you have healthcare coverage under the ACA, preventive care is free!
    • Pay it forward…I did that yesterday. Standing outside a NYC theater with no cabs in sight, I was approached by a woman requesting to share a ride. Sure I said, though she went to Chelsea and I went to Lincoln Center. She paid the cost of her round trip and I made a new friend! It was a win-win for both of us.
  2. The Insurance Subsidies:  Insurance Companies are paid through July ONLY. They must be renegotiated this August. Congress should use this time wisely to add multiple carriers to every State.
  3. Advertising for the new member enrollment in November should be occurring now to assure ease of enrollment through a greater understanding of exchange availability in all States.  As we speak, the Dept of HHS has taken down all advertising sites for the ACA.  Why should  such mean-spiritedness be occurring.  88% of Americans want the ACA.  Make it accessible for sign up and participation in healthcare benefits.

PERISCOPE 7-25-17

If Congress can resurrect a bipartisan bill to sanction Russia, Iran and North Korea, they can cross the aisle once again to benefit the American people.  Congress knows Americans value healthcare, why not come together and agree to work within the existing framework and make a high quality, less costly system for all Americans. This could be a win-win that unites our Country! “We the People” would be proud and happy to know that we do have taxation with representation. The House Bill is far too “mean”, as described by the President himself.  The Senate bill and its revisions do not have enough votes, in addition to the fact that it throws millions off healthcare and has been rejected by a majority of Americans.  Repealing without replacement is also a loser and does not have enough Republican support.

Besides healthcare, Congress is now faced with raising the debt ceiling and creating a budget. They can’t afford to be looking at tax cuts for the wealthy. “We the People” are watching and waiting for pragmatic legislation to emerge.  I hope they don’t let this opportunity pass.  Americans need education, good paying jobs and Infrastructure NOW.  I recognize this is a difficult era for Congress.  However, Americans want to see bipartisan bills helping the poor, the working poor and the middle class.  And it is time this Congress puts their heads together and does the work of bipartisanship!

I don’t believe the Country can afford more entitlements for big business and the wealthy.  Welfare for the wealthy has destroyed our country over the last thirty years. We have developed an indolent class, and I’m not referring to the poor!  The wealthy have ceased being creative and have blocked the creation of new industries.  They’ve become content to take their cash and do nothing.  That’s not good enough for “We the people”, not when the need is so great: jobs, healthcare, housing, and national infrastructure investment.

How many in Congress are ready to tax the wealthy and create a Society that is fair and equitable?  It’s time to dedicate all our efforts toward those in our country who are less well off, the poor, the working poor, and the middle class.  Why not? We have a voice and we’re ready to make choices on our behalf. We now recognize that Politics affects us!

“The heart and pulse of the Middle Class”

Joyce AmericaSpeaks Periscope@11am Does Fox News give you the News? Entertainment?

Joyce America Speaks Periscope @11am Does the Fox News Channel dispense News? Change the Channel and hear something different!

Why do some people watch and believe Fox News?   I question whether it is a powerful media tool used to propagandize the right’s message, our President’s message  and not daily news and analysis?   Much of the news is not even presented.  Where is world news and their thoughts on foreign and/or domestic policy? Where are the facts?
How do I know those listening to Fox are not getting all the news and/or facts? I read the news all over the globe. I’m skeptical of the truth and concerned as a journalist that I provide my followers with accurate factual news. The facts are important to me. I’ll spend hours tracking news stories to confirm their veracity.
That is who I am and who my followers are. We value the truth, not fake news or fake facts. We don’t want to live in a state of denial. Look what happens when you deny the facts.

Several weeks ago, London experienced their worst fire in a high-rise residential apartment house because landlords and the government ignored vital facts about aluminum clad buildings. At last count, 76-80 people died. Why didn’t anyone review the facts? Why was this cheaper, dangerous method used when this product was banned in other nations? We will learn the facts though many more may be hurt and injured while we learn.
You’re probably thinking, what does this have to do with Fox News? Who’s going to suffer? Are the stakes equally high? Life and death? The short answer is Yes. Why?

I listened to a Fox News disclaimer on the Russian interference in our elections. Despite all of our intelligence evidence of Russia’s hacking into the 2016 elections, Fox is pushing its version of false news pretty hard. I keep wondering why? What do they gain by misleading people? What do they gain by supporting Trump no matter what the personal cost to Fox watchers and believers? They create an atmosphere of us v. them.
That’s simply not true. Whether you are white, black, yellow or brown, whether you live in rural or urban America, if you’re poor, working poor or part of the dwindling middle class, we’re all suffering together. We’re all underemployed; we’re all concerned about healthcare, education, infrastructure, and good paying jobs.

Don’t just listen to Fox News. If you do and you’re not like the rest of us grazing the news, you’ll never know when you should be concerned about current events. Whether you stay in your media silo or not, crisis and politics will affect you! It affects all of us.
Fox is very clever in their denial of the facts. Read my Twitter Posts of the news from around the World. Then you’ll be informed and understand that your increased knowledge is pro America and Pro Democracy . Why accept anything less? You have the power to turn the channel and participate in the Democratic process, why be a bystander, when you can write your own story?  Try PBS. it’s unbiased.  Or read the Financial Times or the Washington Post.

I’m not an ideologue. I try to seek out the truth and provide unbiased facts.
Have a great day. See you at 11 am Monday.
“The heart and pulse of the Middle Class”

Joyce: AmericaSpeaks Periscope@11am ThePerfectStorm/ (open the links for my presentation on Inequality & Medicaid)Thank you!

Dear followers:

On Wednesday we talked about “the Perfect Storm”.  Too many dysfunctional parts occurring in our Society at the same time.  Inequality of massive proportions has taken place in America through the use of preferential tax cuts to Corporations and the “already wealthy”.  This is not capitalism, this is greed!

Capitalism flourished when Corporate taxes and personal taxes were higher for multinationals and the “upper classes”.  Laws were in place to assure that taxation was collectible and enforced.  Productivity was also higher when employees were valued and paid a proper wage.

Unbridled , runaway Capitalism, has left America and Americans suffering as the few become wealthy on the backs of the shrinking Middle Class and the working poor.  Not convinced?  Please review the enclosed slides on Inequality and the proposed changes to our existing Affordable Care Act.  With a will to change, we can create a society that benefits all of us.  America is awash in money.  We have to generate revenue and unite again, as before, to build an America for the 21st and 22 nd Century.  We can do it if we acknowledge the suffering of all of the working poor and the suffering of the shrinking Middle Class.  We’re suffering for the benefit of the greediest amongst us.  Why?

“the heart and pulse of the Middle Class”

Joyce America Speaks Periscope @11am Systems are broken, fix them & return to “good paying”jobs !

Don’t break out the Champagne yet. McConnel is merely reloading and reassessing how much more he has to give to get votes. Kicking the problem down the road further out may snare some. Don’t be fooled he and Trump need this win, even if it kills all of us! Wait and See!

  • Like all significant unsolved , yet solvable problems in our World, another fix delayed until the right spin,  not healthcare solutions,  is devised.

Our leaders , it appears,  don’t make workable fixes for the “common good”.   Why bother? They’d rather plan for chaos and catastrophe on someone else’s watch!

Healthcare can be fixed by calling on key players : the Insurance Companies, Big Pharma , the Hospitals and physicians and patients!   Give them time together with the experts and we’ll get an affordable quality healthcare system. When you work in the dark, no promises can be achieved to aid “we the People”. Must be their plan, voters are expendable.

Riders in our subway systems are expendable too! NYC subways are overcrowded and underfunded and ear piercingly loud. Not to mention reaching a point of non functional! What are NY ‘s legislatures doing bickering over,  jurisdiction?   Rather then fixing the problems of a 112 yr old system our Railroads are deteriorating as we use them.   Maintenance and repairs must be scheduled to allow 6 million riders a smooth efficient means of transportation to work. We can’t kick the can down the road any longer.  There is a real need to spend money on our crumbling Infrastructure now.  We’ll get several “bangs” for our buck,  more good paying jobs for enough people sooner rather then later!

England already believes deregulation has been overused. They’re going to have to reclad hundreds of buildings.

The new Ransomeware striking the World shows us our tech vulnerabilities. Are we seeing chaos everywhere?

We have enough reasons to start massive National Infrastructure programs. The needs exist to move whole sectors back into economic solvency. The Political will? They prefer to collect two salaries: one from “we the People” and the 2 nd unlimited salary,  from their benefactors. Ah well! How long do we allow Late Capitalism to rule our lives when economic solutions exist to provide work for all!

See you at 11 am and we’ll chat.
“The heart and pulse of the Middle Class”

The Voice of Joyce: if you want real facts and a change back to past values, support me now with talent and money! I can’t be a little Voice for change!

No time like the present to ask for help. Dear followers, I’ve gotten support and encouragement from many of you and I thank you.

Now I need people to step forward and help me form an organization that moves from Social Media to the streets of our Land. We’ve got to strengthen and enlarge our media footprint.

We’ll go to CrowdPAC for funding. Initially our efforts will be volunteer till we’ve got a professional presentation.

Who will join m?   I support a National Healthcare system, if possible,  and Social Safety Nets .   Our leaders knew millions would lose jobs in our Market Society,  where everyone and everything has a price. For 30 years we have been purposely divided so that those in control of our government and their enablers could reap the benefits.

No more! Too many of us see what’s happening and we protest.  This time, unlike during the 60’s our protest will be non violent. No need to spill our precious blood for the benefit of a few when a National Shrike will suffice.

Support me and we can build on what exists and create a better way of life for all of us. Take a chance, stop hating Democrats or Republicans, urban or rural folks and support each other, because we’re all suffering.

Let’s share our stories. That’s what I’ve been trying to do for years. Read my posts and you’ll get the facts as I see them, unbiased and non partisan. We’re Americans. United we Stand.  That seems to sum up how I feel. I prefer “United we stand”. How about you?
