Joyce America Speaks Periscope @11 am Monday Corporate Greed has divided us into groups, let’s take time to defend the besieged “white male”, too’

To the detriment of “we the People”, we have been segmented into groups. This division is not healthy for Americans. It does not contribute to a sense of shared journey in these United States. Instead it pits one group against the other as every group believes that the “other” group is the cause of their misery . In reality , it is corporate greed that has created loss of Jobs, poor health and education choices and Opioid addiction
It is a fact, bad government policy and corporate greed have splintered Americans wasting “human capital”  to America’s detriment.

Now ,  the poor , working poor and Middle Class white male considers himself a targeted group for mis treatment and feels under siege. ” He ” suffers from suicide, Opioid addiction, loss of dignity and has become part of the underemployed or unemployed. Many have slipped out of their comfortable Middle Class status and find it difficult to recover from Job loss. They were once Middle and upper Middle Management or workers earning a living wage and now they have nothing. Not even $400 in savings . They have indeed lost out in the American Dream!

To quote Robert Schiller , the economist, “we need to bring back the American Dream of a just society, where everyone has an opportunity to reach “the fullest stature of which they are innately capable.”

In defense of White Males at their prime earning years,  their 40-60’s, how could “established White Males” bar them from earning a living? I reproach a society that has no compassion or empathy for all it’s citizens.

White males are human, they deserve equal opportunity to earn a decent living , to seek mental health counseling , to be retrained at Corporate expense , to be provided with a basic living wage for survival and the recognition that they exist and “we the people” see them.

No group should be stereotyped! No group should be judged! Designating groups , has been bad for society and good for the perpetuation of a corrupt do “nothing for the people ‘ government and business structure.

Cleverly, politics on the right and the left have segmented our Society, creating groups who view other groups as the enemy. Someone else took their job or let them fall into despair. In reality, over 30 years, government has worked with Big Business to create divisions among Americans, allowing some people  to prosper at everyone else’s expense. Make no mistake, those who prosper cross Party lines , have no racial divisions and are bound by their common need for more!

Meanwhile, the rest of America is divided by Party lines and ethnic groups. What happens when any group suffers and is in distress? “We the People ” collectively suffer. Families suffer, their loved ones suffer and Society losses an entire generation of potential innovation.

  • We can’t afford to deny the existence of those we’ve left out.

Rather , we should act and act as quickly as possible to redefine the American Dream .  A society that cares for all it’s people and provides equal opportunity to all. As American greed runs unchecked , groups have self identified, making it more difficult for many to see beyond their beleaguered group. It is past time to address the needs of the poor and working class and the less prosperous Middle Class, white Males included. They too must regain a sense of purpose . Their loss is America’s loss.   The American Dream was based upon treasuring “human capital”, all human capital!

I marvel at the resiliency of other Nations, while I  shake my head in dismay when I think about the America I love. In the 70’s the happiness of the American worker was codified into law. Job stability was guaranteed by the Corporation. No worker worried when Corporate divisions were sold, counseling and another job equal to theirs was promised.  American management valued “human capital”.

How do we reward ” we the People”, who have been left out of Technology, IT, and Manufacturing? Study our history and the common practices found today in America and other Countries.

  • Solutions proposed date back to our founding fathers.   Thomas Paine, believed “Everyman ” should be given a basic living wage at age 18, to be applied toward education and then again at age 55 to be applied toward retirement.
  • Milton Friedman and other Economists have thought about using Helicopter money to alleviate the plight of the poor and Middle Classes. They proposed cutting a $10,000 check for the poor, working poor and less upwardly mobile Middle Class.
  • I’ve thought about QE ( Quantitative Easing) for this group of unemployed or underemployed persons, too!   Retire the Treasury’s “older bonds” totaling $1.7 Trillion and cut a check for154 million American’s earning $75,000 or lower for $12,000 each.
  • For more examples of ” Corporate ” largess, NY teachers , like the Danes working for Elsevier in the 1990’s, when fired , they were allowed to remain employed and take up residence in designated work areas where they continued to collect their pay and benefits until they found work elsewhere.
  • The Finns have continued unemployment benefits to engineers laid off by start up organizations, in order to encourage workers to take risks again, while maintaining their unemployment benefits . In this way the Finns encourage creative thinking , innovation and entrepreneurs , while maintaining individual monetary stability.

Much can be done to help our suffering distressed population, including ” white males” . In the process , by being generous, we help ourselves and achieve a better life.
Why dream small? We can save our planet , if we act locally and think globally.
Let’s start locally by acknowledging the plight of the white male too and act now to bring him back to full earning capacity along with everyone else!

Why not work together in a Bipartisan way to solve our problems,  rather then avoiding them. Let’s have compassion and empathy for those left behind.

I have faith in my fellow Americans. Once awakened, I’ve seen our can do spirit! Let’s take a deep breath and let each man achieve a small step forward so mankind can benefit and prosper. When thinking about America , let’s think about all Americans . Give our “left behind ” white males a chance to re enter society, too. It would be a win win for America.

See you on Monday and we’ll chat!

“the heart and pulse of the Middle Class”

JoyceAmericaSpeaks Periscope @11am China invests $1 Trillion in Europe, Asia & Africa. What is America doing ?

Where are we today? According to the Financial Times the US lags behind in infrastructure development and GDP even as China ambitiously moves forward with a trillion dollar investment to develop Europe, Asia and Africa’s aging infrastructure.  China will give these nations the cash they need to build their roads, bridges and transportation hubs. Iran will become the hub for all of these programs, duplicating the “Silk Road ” of the Ancient World.

While we are unable to agree on infrastructure programs for our nation or acknowledge the individual needs of our States, the rest of the world is improving their own infrastructures and creating new businesses.

By uniting we can change our story, too! We have the money and the resources in America to develop our own infrastructure. It may be too late for this year. However, in six months every state should be capable of identifying their critical infrastructure.
With help from “We the people”, America can develop and target funds for massive infrastructure rebuilding.  Don’t let Congress propose tax cuts for the wealthy, when we want more, not less of the economic pie!  To get there, I propose creating the following data banks, call your representatives, and run for local, state and federal office.

They say millions of jobs exist.  Prove it!  Where is that database I’ve been requesting for 4 yrs?  We need:

  • A national jobs data bank
  • A National Apprentice program starting in Junior High School
  • Corporate America should be publishing their Job openings along with salary expectations and their requirements for technical skills.

“I’m from Missouri, I need to see job listings I can believe in!”  If Americans are going to compete against the global economy, we should decide if we want to carve out our own niche or become the most educated quality and customer- dedicated employee on the planet. Take the 90-day challenge: Advocate or run for office.

We are not a country of followers; we are a country of doers!  If we don’t work or plan now for the next 40 yrs, we will truly lag behind in the world.  Advocate for change now. Start running for local government today.  I met several potential Council women and one local Congressman.  Donald Trump’s horrendous disregard for the American working class has motivated decent folks to run for government office.  He’s done the same for the ACA – made it popular!  Don’t worry, we’re not going to let anyone take away our entitlements. We will raise our voices and stop the partisan rhetoric coming out of Washington and replace it with solid requests for jobs and a basic safety net.

Quantative Easing for the middle and lower classes is beginning to sound more reasonable every day. Especially when I hear that so many lack savings for emergencies. Why not use $1.7 trillion of the $4.5 trillion the Fed holds in bonds to cut a $12,000 check for each of the 154 Million poor and middle class American families? The time to do something is now. Americans have waited 9 years for a positive change in the economy. How many more years are we prepared to wait?

In the next few weeks, I’ll be seeking endorsements for my campaign and placing a solicitation for funds on CrowdPac!
See you at 11 am dear followers.

“The heart and pulse of the Middle Class”

JoyceAmericaSpeaks Periscope @11am Trump vs Americans “What has Trump done for America?”

What has Donald Trump done for Americans? Let’s examine the facts.

By not fully funding the ACA Insurance subsidies, new deals will need to be made late in this year, in order to reset and/or maintain both the compliance and affordability of Insurance companies on the exchanges. The individual mandates must be reinstated as well. Doing nothing is not an option; millions rely on Medicaid and the health insurance exchanges. Americans need quality health care coverage as well as peace of mind.

We can do better!

Meanwhile, both here and abroad Trump is helping Putin and Russia while destroying fledgling renewable energy businesses at home. Powerful lobbies on the extreme right are taking away the cost effectiveness of rooftop solar power. They are concerned that money is not flowing into nuclear or other more profitable fuels. For the first time America’s electric grid is powered 65% by solar energy. It’s cheaper, safer and cleaner then nuclear energy.
Some in the Energy Dept., including its Director, are lobbying against our use of renewables, as individual states suffer under scalding temperatures, creating wildfires in California, Colorado and Arizona. Air travel has also been cancelled on several triple digit days.

On the Global scene, our pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord and declining to lead, allows Putin to run energy in Europe, benefitting his policies directly. No matter that we can’t pull out for 3 years, lacking initiative from the US creates other partnerships
and alliances that may not benefit America and Americans.

We are part of the Global community. The Trump administration can make imported goods and services expensive for Americans through his calculated, disastrous foreign policies. He is currently considering very high tariffs on steel imports that will be crippling for American businesses, make our exports too expensive and encourage trade wars. Trump’s alignment with Russian policy does not serve the interests of this country, particularly when you consider the fact that all our intelligence agencies have confirmed that Russia has hacked our governmental institutions, and now it is assumed they are phishing our electric grid and voting machines. What we should be doing is building critical infrastructure technology ASAP in the areas of defense, our electric grid, our states voting systems, the national transportation grid, air traffic control, and all other major systems throughout this nation.

In summary, the fact sheet appears to weigh far heavier against this President as a promoter of “We the People”! Under Trump, both Domestic and Foreign policy benefit a few over the needs of most Americans.

Let’s now see if Trump makes good on his promise to create a huge national Infrastructure program which would provide good paying Infrastructure jobs at all levels of income. Too much of our country is struggling under the yoke of low paying jobs. 21million Americans work at minimum wage. We are stagnating at home, while Trump continues to cozy up to Big Business and Vladimir Putin. What has Donald Trump done for Americans? Asked & answered.

See you at 11am and we’ll chat.

The Voice of Joyce: Apprentice level jobs only ones available? Time to Strike for more?

We’ve become a Nation of serfs,  serving an entrenched Monarchy! When they say there are 3-4 million jobs out there, they mean , at the Apprentice ship level. I wonder, do apprentices get paid? If they were in the Union, they’d get 25-50% of the Union Journeyman wage scale plus benefits.

In our Gig economy, how much is their pay? Most likely minimum wage jobs?  If they lead to upward mobility in 2-4 yrs,  with wage increases , that’s a plus for the very young.

This was normal practice in the old days,  of the 70’s and even the 80’s,  when kids getting out of college , with no work experience made a minimum  wage of $25-35,000 a year. Today’s  $’s  should be would be higher, but they’re not.  Sad, so sad!

Why were  Middle Management jobs deemed expendable?   Why jave we dismissed qualified project managers and failed to hire them back.  We know the airline s can’t schedule without Middle Management expertise in the business, scheduling and IT.  We know Rehab facilities don’t function well without Supervisory management and staffing.  We know IT requires more then coders and upper management direction.  So, why don’t we care?  The only reason I can discern, a dysfunctional organization only affects, “we the People”.  The CEO’s and shareholders are rewarded at the expense of the working public.

So, I see a two class society.  Input at the bottom, no management and the high earners and shareholders at the top. This is no way to run a business or a country.

At some point Americans will  Strike. Wait and see!  If you are afraid someone will take your low level job, don’t despair, there are 3-4 million Apprentice level jobs available, according to our President.  Enough to shuffle through!  Though I still wonder, when will the good high paying jobs return to America?   Where are the proposed Infrastructure jobs?  “We the People”  have nothing to lose but your continued loss of pride and the apathy we’ve sunk into!

JoyceAmericaSpeaks Periscope @11am Monday Wake up America, we’re being boiled alive like Frogs!

What’s the difference between us and the Russians? They don’t care about politics or politicians, as long as they have an apartment, a good paying job and food. They’ve withstood life under the czars, the Revolution, Stalin, and now Putin. The Russian people are ok as long as their lifestyle remains untouched. Tamper with their right to life, liberty and their pursuit of happiness and the Russian people will not tolerate their governments lack of concern for their rights.  Take away the apartments of 1.6 million Muscovites and they take to the streets.

They’re different then us. We are consumed with Politics and politicians and quietly accept our fate, like frogs boiling slowly.    Otherwise, how can you explain our denial of the facts. American rights have been eroding since the 80’s,  yet most of us didn’t realize the harm done to us till recently.   Some still believe in the “goodness” and capability of Donald Trump and his Administration.  They’re accepting the Party line.   They deny their reality and believe with all their heart , as he continues to destroy our Institutions and degrade the rights of labor , that he will produce “good” paying jobs for them.

One has to wonder why are Americans so tolerant? The rest of the World appears to be demanding an end to cronyism and corruption,  while we accept it and shrug  off it’s effects at our peril.  Our economy is not improving.   Wages are stagnant.  Good paying jobs at the management level are non existent.

Wake up America! We’re being swindled. The alt right will not stop their crusade against the poor and the Middle Class till we’ve all taken to the streets or we’re dead. Stop deluding yourselves, change is slow.  I understand. After 9 yrs of being patient myself,  I realize there are no white knights to save us.   I was hoping for a 3 rd Party to emerge and that never happened either.

I am now my own advocate for change. Enough is enough. Bills are passing the House that make my hair curl and few say anything. Every decent Congressman on both sides of the aisle should be denouncing these assaults on “we the People”. I hear some opposition on the GOP side but not many. We need real dissent to counter this extreme agenda. We need centrists.

I’m no politician and I will encourage decency no matter who says they stand with the American people. Everyone else should get out of our way as we advocate for Legislation that improves the lives of the poor and the Middle Class.  I’ll detail how to generate revenue on Periscope at 11am.

Together we can build an America for the 22 nd Century.  Wake up and join me before we’re boiled alive, ” just like the Frogs”.

See you at 11am and we’ll chat.  More to follow.  Other thoughts to be published tomorrow.  Have a great night.

“The heart and pulse of the Middle Class”

JoyceAmericaSpeaks Periscope @11am Tuesday: ” We the People” are the Power! Recognize it! Use it!

Dear followers, ask yourself these questions and determine for yourself what is right and just.

Are the poor less entitled then our children and our families? Does it have to be, either or?   Why not both?  Use our tax dollars to feed and provide Healthcare and a social safety net to the less fortunate and take care of our children and families, too.

Next, you might wonder how do we provide for the poor and those who were once comfortably Middle Class? We raise revenue 5 different ways. Just re-look at my Revenue Generators, enclosed. Then we  readjust the taxes stated and collected on Corporations (28% , no loopholes) and  tax Individuals making $1 Million and up!

Why should we Tax the wealthy you may ask? Because the wealthy are becoming indolent while they make fortunes for doing nothing. Look at the  CEO salaries posted on Twitter @ grandmajsilver.   CEO’s  are lavished with huge  compensation  packages whether or not their company’s share price rises or whether they have improved their corporation.   I urge you to read, Gretchen Morgenson, Fair Game’s column @ The NY Times.  She cites several examples.

  •  Why should  CEO’s grow their businesses?   They are well compensated for being the CEO! Therefore, Corporations keep their cash and reward their shareholders and themselves at the expense of everyone else in our Global society.

We see evidence of absolute greed in everything we do. There is no customer service for “we the People”, systems crash because IT project managers have been cut from businesses in order to increase profits. The end result, we have created a society of needy self centered individuals clamoring for more money , creating nothing and destroying the lives of ” we the People” who use and rely on their products .   As an example, think of British Airlines,  this weekend.   They cut their IT depts.   and sent their business off shore to India.  Management said they were on top of the problem, really, when passengers were stranded for two days, languishing in airports with a meal voucher?

When I was delayed in Savannah, I was candidly informed, delays happen all the time, the Controllers and the Delta schedulers don’t communicate.   Delta is routinely  not equipped to handle scheduling changes ?  Why not we should be asking? Airlines never made so much profit;  They’re making 40% profit.  These profits were  not attainable years ago.   When  Buffett purchased an airline and called it an embarrassing moment in BRK history,   he meant it.  He called his purchase, “the indefensible”.

Times have changed. The airlines haven’t improved, they’ve just gotten greedier. Pretty soon as they continue to accommodate more passengers with smaller interiors they might clip their wings and be unable to fly!

But I digress! You get the idea?
The very wealthy CEO ‘s are holding back progress by taking all the money out of their corporations  and keeping it for themselves.  They are preventing the rest of us from creating because we lack enough funds to be creative and to live at the same time. This is the dilemma of wealth inequality. The wealthy socialize and purchase high ticket items while the rest of us subsist.

Where is it written in the great religions of our World that we should look away from those in need? It isn’t. I know full well that life isn’t fair. No one guarantees you a helping hand , however , “we the People ” have every reason to hope for a Social safety net and a job. Life was better for the Middle Class before the Reagan Tax Cuts.

I remember life before the Fiscal Crisis of “08. I remember those wonderful workdays when we experienced fairness in the workplace and had an opportunity to make a living wage . A healthy thriving Middle Class is a sign that our Country is thriving and productive.

When the wealthy are taxed, they may make less and they’re forced to be creative to earn more money, just like “we the People”.

Everyone benefits when society is balanced and equal. When more money circulates through our Economy , the creative flourish, society produces more and those dreams we dared to dream become reality. That’s the Society I want to live in.

What about you dear follower, what society do you envision for yourself and your families?   A self interested Society, rewarding a few or one that is all inclusive , giving everyone an equal opportunity to succeed ! I choose the latter.

I remember Mrs B, the owner of the Berkshire Furniture Mart, I met her when she was in her 90’s before the fiscal crash, driving around the warehouse on her scooter in a Chanel suit , she stopped to talk to me and explained that she was disgusted with her 4 children. She called them the dilettantes, spoiled kids who knew nothing about the worth of money. She was unhappy, exclaiming, they had too much and forgot the value of hard work. We talked for 15 min. It may be recorded somewhere, I don’t know.   I do know that her saga is not unusual. Many of us have given too much to our family and perhaps that experience has jaded your outlook on the poor and misfortunate?

In this age of record Corporate share prices, who is thinking of their employees and Americans ? Will they willingly share their wealth? No! Taxation is the only way I know to make people work harder. Then, If they want to give personally of their time and money , that’s commendable.

In this age of Inequality there is no way forward for Millions without taxing those with so much. The Party is over. We will not have true prosperity till we reverse our State of Inequality and stop artificially inflating stock prices and CEO SALARIES.

ANOTHER THOUGHT: Since some of the 10 top earners in the Country are Internet and Social media corporations, they should pay us, “we the People” , for using their platforms and allowing them to steal our profiles for their personal and commercial profit.   Just a thought! This concept is being used in India. Every time someone clicks on a product , they receive cash in their iPhone accounts.

Enough is enough!  ” We the People ” are indeed valuable and deserve to be rewarded, just like the rich. The rich would not have so much, if we didn’t vote for them or buy their products. We are the power behind the wealthy. Choose wisely , we don’t want an either or Society or  “us vs them”.   We want “us” and ” them” to live and prosper according to our chosen destiny!
See you later at 11 am.
” the heart and pulse of the Middle Class”

The Voice of Joyce: Social Safety Net , no strings! Show compassion!

I understand the Republican mentality of giving with strings. I was guilty of that feeling. I gave to a family member and attached emotional strings. The bond was a disaster of resentment and anger on both our parts.

I understand and I also know in my heart that it is wrong to give money with strings attached. Many times people need a helping hand and the handout is temporary. When it becomes a lifetime of giving it is hard to break the pattern.

in our Country, the Social Safety net we’ve established satisfies very few. That’s why folks can’t live solely on Medicaid, Medicare or Social Security. That’s why folks are angry or in despair.

Conversely , folks who’ve made it are mad as hell that they must keep giving . The reality and the sad truth, unless and until we end our State of Inequality, we must continue giving. To be compassionate, those who are in control, must give with no strings . Cutting the Social Safety net is not an option: Not in the big cities and not in the South or the Rust Belt or anywhere.

“We the people”, are a mixed bunch , just like the wealthy. Stereotyping serves no ones purpose .

Think big, think grand, think TR, FDR and do what’s right for our Country and humanity.
