AmericaSpeaks TheVoiceOfJoyce Australia is the “canary in the coal mine.” Do we need a visceral traumatic moment like Australia to wake up & see the devastation to our own Country and people? Or can we acknowledge the truth of our situation and ACT! Make our own future together livable for all?

AmericaSpeaks TheVoiceOfJoyce People are excluded from most jobs. There’s discrimination by age, sex, race. Then daunting credentials for professionals who know the work and should be employed. Once employed the pay is too low and drives people into homelessness & Diseases of Despair. Fix Low wages and more people will benefit

AmericaSpeaks TheVoiceOfJoyce Ross Douthat & Nicholas Kristoff are both right. Income inequality fosters depression and mental distress in the Wealthy, who produce & innovate little. While the 90% who remain with stagnant wages & diseases of despair would benefit from a cash infusion. It doesn’t have to be much, . I was proposing $12,000 & Rutger Bergman has seen that $5000 may be sufficient to help those in poverty create better lives for themselves, while decreasing costs dramatically in healthcare needs. A mentaly healthy population pays big returns on GDP. In my next YouTube I’ll recite the #’s

Data science is being used to bring products and services to market that are profoundly affecting our world. AmericaSpeaks TheVoiceOfJoyce A commission headed by Harvard, recommends sweeping changes to Labor Law & makes it easier to Unionize. A strong Labor voice, would assure higher wages and make it more difficult to classify employees as contractors. These Laws are ready once a more progressive administration takes over the White House. Our GDP and productivity will increase with well paid labor

AmericaSpeaks TheVoiceOfJoyce At least 10% of all workers have more than one job to earn a living. 28% of the work force may hold multiple jobs. Having 1 job is preferable, if an individual is well paid. However, in our current State of Inequality, having one job is not sufficient earnings. A new metric will help define our Labor force. However, Income Inequality is not sustainable for Americans. The USA is the most unequal of similar Nations.

AmericaSpeaks TheVoiceOfJoyce Americans will elect a government in 2020 that will seriously change the electric power grid for the 21 st Century. We thrive as a Nation when we employ all People for a once in a lifetime, decade push toward a new world with clean energy, safe to breathe and safer for our kids. AmericaSpeaks TheVoiceOfJoyce Union workers make more than non union workers independent of race, gender or work performed. The charts breaking out race & gender don’t reveal a fair comparison. Readers don’t know if the jobs are equal or what is being measured at the Union level to cause disparity’s. When I ran a union shop, the Foreman made the most, no discrimination for race or gender. Pay was defined by skill level. Entry level apprentices made the least but had a benefit package too!
