Scott’s logic was impeccable. He said Obama didn’t bomb Syria, after Assad used poison gas on his People, because it would hurt Obama’s poll #’s ! I agreed that would be wrong. After reading several articles on the incident, I determined, Scott’s analysis was based on incorrect information.
Obama did state, if Assad used Chemical Weapons on the Syrian people, that would cross a Red Line and Obama would commit US troops in retaliation.
The Military was prepared to act on Obama’s direction. However, Obama being cautious thought the American people and the Congress should make the decision, not him. When he asked Congress to authorize troops to Syria and polled the people, Neither wanted US troops in Syria.
As it turned out. All of Assad’s chemical weapons were given up peacefully. No troops deployed.
This scenario is not at all similar to Trumps actions involving “getting dirt “ on the Biden’s. What Obama did was not for personal gain.
Sorry Scott, you misquoted the truth. The 2 instances are not comparable.
