I’m reflecting on the Wars, the men in my family fought and survived. I’m thankful they’ve survived.
Since World War ll, many have lost their lives or have survived, injured. They fought for us.
Would we have been safe with a diplomatic solution? After we’ve fought wars, a diplomatic agreement is always reached. So, yes, a diplomatic solution and settlement is preferable, to me, then loss of a loved one.
Our future holds choices, we can continue to fight each other, or recognize our differences without warfare. That’s the more rational choice.
Anyone can bomb another Country, destroy the environment globally and murder innocent people. It takes leadership to negotiate “Good Friday Agreements “ , when two countries agree to live side by side without murdering each other. It takes the guarantees of all their neighbors to assure a lasting peace.
On this Memorial Day I wish all the warring nations on our planet, would put down their weapons and agree to live side by side, with their neighbors, without murdering or maiming each other and our environment.
No longer does what happens in one region, stay in that region. We have a moral obligation and perhaps a monetary obligation to maintain peace!
