A 10 yr old was raped in Mississippi, filed a petition with the police when the family knew she was pregnant and the child didn’t have the money to travel for an abortion. Why should States ban abortions or govern women’s reproductive health? Ohio citizens asked that question, on an August ballot, and overturned the Legislature’s proposed abuse of citizen representation. #WhenThePeople speak, they win!

They’re a way for people across the State and Country to meet to discuss issues that concern them and resolve those issues by formatting ballot proposals. Ballots work in Michigan, California and other States. Some states have restricted citizen ballots and I’m not sure that’s Lawful. That’s one way for Citizen assemblies to effect change. Citizen Assemblies can also meet, to propose Legislation based on their findings of fact. We’d work directly with Legislators to get our Bills passed? This is a 2 nd way for citizen assemblies to function: become a ThinkTank and write bills for Congress ( State and Federal Levels) to pass. The fundamental drama of this period is whether we can figure out how to survive properly with those elements or not.” … More TheVoiceOfJoyce An unregulated internet gives a vice to foreign disrupters, culture wars, disinformation, violence and misinformation. Based on the algorithms used our behavior is modified and hive thinking occurs. Many remain linked in their own silos, not necessarily of their own choosing. The internet, the algorithms are not neutral, people can be gradually radicalized. Foreign actors and bots are difficult to detect. Our data is sold to third parties and their unaccountable. At the very least, Section 230 of the Communication Decency Act must change to reflect the Social Media Platforms evolution. No longer is the internet merely a free exchange of ideas between friends and communities. In many instances our behavior is manipulated and an algorithm decides who hires us, who gives us insurance and determines, based on our online behavior, if we’re worthy of that mortgage or job? However, when Wikileaks and Julian Assange, worked cooperatively with the Russian Internet Agency and Donald Trumps campaign to make private emails and data gained illegally by The Russian Internet Agency, they crossed a red line. Wikileaks was essentially aiding a crime. The Russian Internet Agency, infiltrated the RNC and the DNC and exposed sensitive polling data. The Russian Internet Agency stole data from Hillary Clinton and released 30,000 of her emails for use in conspiracy ads and for use by the Trump Campaign Team. Would you want someone, or entity or foreign entity to gain access to your personal data and use it against you? Is this any different from entering the DNC and stealing their papers for your campaign’s use and strategy. One set of data is on paper and the other data resides on the internet.
