Perhaps we should assume the worse, take away Fossil Fuel subsidies, tax Fossil Fuel windfall profits and start to innovate new energy sources and products that are less toxic. It can be done. Since the 1970’s we’ve been warned against our reliance on Fossil Fuels. Paul Krugman and the IMF are concerned about the Straits of Hormuz being closed and causing a Global Recession. I say, think opportunity, and start utilizing and funding alternative energy sources and products. Stop our dependency and live healthy.

They critiquing NES power during the ice storm and correcting their statistics. 200,000 were without power for weeks and the Senate GOP are undercutting job growth. TheVoiceOfJoyce Polling data shows health care charges are increasing and the new Medicaid rules were unnecessary. The number of people working while on Medicaid is surprisingly high. In fact, when my Temple ran a shelter for 11 men, for 35 yrs , pre pandemic, every man worked and needed a clean place to sleep and breakfast and dinner! They were all decent hardworking people!

TheVoiceOfJoyce The news on Iran is erratic and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards are controlling the narrative! The Straits of Hormuz are closed. Many in Africa and the Global South will be food insecure. Our entire food processing industry depends on petroleum. When I stated , a new relationship with energy will bring about a revolution in products, technology and pollution control, that’s correct. Meanwhile, we’re dealing with a President who makes money off of Fossil Fuels and has a short attention span for War. Who will negotiate for Trump before the Iranian war escalates or we’re worse off than before?

Listening to Trump, you get his euphoria and have to wonder, are the Straits open or still blockaded? Bombing stopped? The wish list is an open Strait of Hormuz and peace talks. Negotiations and consultations are not agreed upon yet. We’re still in a wait and see mode.

TheVoiceOfJoyce As we worry about pollution, poor health care, higher prices at the pump, Republicans in Congress are making deals to destroy a Minnesota National park to a Chilean group for sulfuric acid. The park brings in $1.1 Billion and provides 17,000 jobs. Minnesota is against the sale. Republicans want to grab a deal and hurt Minnesota. They’re forgetting we’re the United States and you’re shutting all of us out of this decision process. The Republicans have also illegally impounded money slated for all States? Why? So they can punish their enemies. With their egregious policies, 10million + losing healthcare, we’re all enemies. Come November, no matter what’s required, Vote against Trump’s Republican Lawmakers and vote their brand of personal capitalism out of office. Our Democracy wasn’t perfect and we can do better and we will!

We were told we’d have lower food prices and we’re not seeing them at the grocery store. In fact, when I can purchase all the items on my list , they’re 30% higher. Paul Krugman is trying to explain that the actual index doesn’t justify our sour mood on consumer prices. When you have a limited budget, increases in spending for necessities hurts. We have a right to be concerned. With Trump’s policies, it’s unlikely prices will go down.
