The Indigenous people are stakeholders in the Rivers, too. The distribution of water can’t be left to other stakeholders to decide its use. Nut farmers don’t belong in the California deserts, they’re water wasters. Weather Conditions in California necessitate a rethinking of water usage to maintain the River’s biodiversity. If the Rivers can no longer support wildlife, salmon or the Indigenous people, how long do Californians believe it will remain to supply their needs? Water is a finite resource. The Indigenous people know how to replenish their resources, include their voices in water conservation and everyone will survive!
