TheVoiceOfJoyce If you want to Unionize with ease, the NLRB Laws that were changed by Elaine Chow, Mitch McConnells wife, must be changed back to favor Unionization over Corporate Power. That’s why Bessemer didn’t succeed. Before, if you wanted a Union, you met in private off site, cast a secret ballot and no one could interfere in your Right to Organize. Union members set the rules of their employment, had a say in working conditions & followed Safety Standards. They were also given a chance to purchase voting stock and a say in Corporate relations. TheVoiceOfJoyce No wonder today’s GOP doesn’t want History to reflect America’s racist past, in many Southern & TrumpsGOP controlled States, they are racist in their response to unemployment benefits. They look upon benefits as a deterrent to work. African Americans get much less than the white population and now they want to cut out benefits that should have extended through September. Raising wages helps everyone. Increased wages equals increased productivity & less inflation. Realistically, until the Jobs act and For the Families Act, child care and many unemployment benefits haven’t reached long term unemployed or workers in the Gig economy. There will be a lag in employment until people experience relief from economic pain and experience the benefits of child care allowances and resumption of schooling. What we’re-seeing is temporary. Be patient and work with your constituents.
TheVoiceOfJoyce Just inTime inventory has left the World with shortages in many products and inflation. I came from manufacturing in the 70’s , we had just in time deliveries & we anticipated our needs. During the great proposed tire shortage, Ford stockpiled 5000 ties. Yes, you plan and just like you read a room, why was there a failure in thinking and planning for what happens as the Pandemic ends? We still need to stockpile PPE’s. There will be other Pandemics. If we’re to return to work, we need the Jobs Act and the For the Families Act to pass. Note: Inflation temporary, jobs at decent wages must await!

TheVoiceOfJoyce Work with dignity. That’s how it was in the 70’s & until the Legislation was changed under George Bush, favoring Corporate Power over People Power. Fundamental Change in the laws of the Land must occur. The NLRB has to revert back to FDR , when workers were paid a minimum wage & had bargaining power.
TheVoiceOfJoyce Amazon workers Gig workers all deserve the benefits of employee status. Only Fundamental Change at the NLRB will create the Legislation necessary to provide rights to organize, right to bargain collectively, rights to participate in the Supervision & layout of the workplace and rights to be on Corporate Boards. All these Rights existed prior to the Bush administration and the appointment of Elaine Chow, Mitch McConnell’s wife , to the Dept of Labor. She was responsible for gutting FDR’s rules and replacing them with Laws favoring Corporate Power and greed. Now is the time to offer a Clean Slate for Workers . Corporations talk about ESG’s. Sounds nice, but they’re not implemented. Labor needs an increase in wages, a minimum wage & benefits. If they get a raise, productivity will increase and prices will go down. It’s a win win for the Economy!
