Israel Elections 2015: Background and Dynamics Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 6:30 p.m.

Dear Followers:  As a member of the Israel Committee at SWFS, I am using Social Media to announce an educational program at our SHUL.  The program will discuss the various positions taken by Israeli citizens during this  Election cycle.    Former Amb. Aaron Jacob will present his analysis of the “mood” of the Israeli public!  Do join us!  I’m there to understand and learn, too!  All the best. Joyce

The Stephen Wise Free Synagogue Israel Committee in collaboration with the American Jewish Committee (AJC) presents Ambassador Aaron Jacob in an exclusive briefing on the Israeli elections. Amb. Jacob, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Deputy Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations, will share the historical background of Israel’s political system and the processes that have shaped it since the 1950s. He will outline Israel’s electoral system and electoral reform efforts. Amb. Jacob will address the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as the main issue in the current election, and the respective positions of the Israeli political left, center and right on the subject, including his observations on likely post-election political alignments.

Seating for this rare opportunity is very limited and registration is mandatory.
