AmericaSpeaks TheVoiceOfJoyce The Hawaiian Islands, home to 5 star Resorts, has a food insecurity problem, that effects 2 out of 5 Indigenous families. A non profit conservancy has been working with Native Hawaiians to restore their fish ponds and ecosystems for 10 years. Their efforts are paying off. The Communities gather regularly to tear out the encroaching mangroves, remove invasive species by hand and rebuild and refortify the Pond walls. 3-5 million gallons of submarine waters formed here flow to the Ocean and replenish the coral reefs. By cooperating the Indigenous people have become reconnected with their fishing heritage and each other. Life in balance is restored.
