When the Pandemic ended, extra spending on SNAP programs ended and the SNAP program remains in limbo, along with 34-50 million people who will miss meals, if the Government shutdown before renewing SNAP.
Our state of poverty is a result of too many low paying jobs, leaving families unable to purchase food for their families. The discontinuance of extra SNAP benefits and inflation have led to food insecurity in minorities and the indigenous people and those on fixed income and disability.
Our Country can do better. A cash handout for benefits, may be better than, administering all the programs that rely on Congressional approval.
