What does perpetual war accomplish? I didn’t see partying when I was in Israel. Most people have opted out. Everyone has a friend in the IDF or a relative and knows someone who’s a Hostage.
It’s not an optimum situation, nor is being proactive, trying to make their population feel secure. That has its own risks. You kill a high level Iranian General, plotting Israel’s demise and what happens? Iran threatens retaliation. Really, funding and establishing Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS in Syria and Iraq plus the Houthi’s, isn’t that retaliation and revenge enough? And why?
Because you don’t want Israel to have a State in the Middle East!
It’s time for the Palestinians and the Israelis to recognize they’re alone in the Middle East. What territory they occupy, they will continue to occupy.
There are solutions. Return the Hostages to Israel and allow a Humanitarian pause. Then , let’s look at the day after without Hamas. A day when Palestinians can rebuild and agree to live without murdering each other. That to me is a first step towards moving forward in the next 70 yrs.
