TheVoiceOfJoyce Last week, after marking Glaciers, in Europe, Central Asia and the Americas scientists reported in the Journal Science, glacial melt will continue and put 2 billion people at risk. Not only will water reserves dry up, flooding will occur as well. The scenario is occurring as we fail to halt our rise in emissions and global temperatures. All over Europe, ski slopes are barren and there’s been a 10 degree rise in Celsius. With balmy weather, gas prices are down, inflation is down and the continents water supply is at risk. As a species, we can’t do nothing, we must change to survive.

TheVoiceOfJoyce For years Los Angeles has implemented reflective asphalt and roofs that are painted to reflect the sun’s rays. The Hispanic neighborhoods are hardest hit with heat deserts. The new reflective asphalt, lowers the ground temperatures 25 degrees Fahrenheit and the air temperatures 1 degrees Celsius. The new paint is used on Hospital roofs effectively. Meanwhile, to avoid 25 consecutive days of 95 degree Fahrenheit, millions of square miles are car lanes are using reflective asphalt with a life of 20-30 yrs. All cities should be adapting this methodology and more to prevent severe heat and deaths.

Dr. Otto is working to lessen the damage caused by planet warming by lessening the impact of the weather. If people have an early warning system they can can prepare for extreme flooding or heat. Ultimately, she states, we know there’s a link between Fossil Fuel usage and weather extremes and we must eliminate Fossil Fuel usage to survive. What’s needed is knowing how to wean governments off Fossil Fuels. My suggestion is to reduce Fossil Fuel subsidies and start building alternative energy power immediately. “We need change”. As the planet warms, the Emperor Penguin colonies are facing extinction along with many birds and nematodes, essential for soil replacement. Similarly, Climate biology is essential for contemporary teachers. Teaching Children about climate extremes and dwindling resources are the cornerstones for understanding our world and ways to protect it. The US, Vatican sat on the sidelines and Brazil, and some African Nations were opposed because their is no monetary funding to protect their lands. The agreement is open ended allowing each country to define their plan to save their resources and promote biodiversity. This deal, which has not been followed for a decade, comes when scientists are warning humans are starting to cause the 6 th mass extinction. Our insect population is dying, our fish are dying and plants are withering before harvest. Earth is in crisis and leadership is lacking globally to restore our resources, now? When will politicians realize we need smart plans to live and live well? We can plan for a future without toxic fertilizers, encourage heritage farming and new clean energy production.

The tree are dying and new insect infestations have moved in. Fir forests, under prolonged drought conditions can not be replanted. Prescribed forest burns may be necessary to save other trees from the devastation to follow. Clearly, climate change is effecting America and can no longer be ignored. The quicker we recognize our problems, the quicker we can mitigate and adapt. How much biodiversity must be lost, before we realize we need an expeditious program to tackle species loss?

The system works without magnets and smashes atoms together to create energy. Massive amounts of energy can be released by fusion technology, enough to power our Country and the Planet. So many can be lifted out of poverty with this technology; lights, clean water, heat. All using clean energy. Government money and private money is pouring into fusion technology.
