TheVoiceOfJoyce Black Women have been involved for years, trying to obtain clean water and sanitation for millions. Biden’s infrastructure Bill can address this issue , along with clean air. While speaking about infrastructure, there are sections in NYC where the gas has been turned off for a year & Internet service is off equally long. This is the upper west side 80’-90’s . Our Country needs this Stimulus now. New Jobs , retraining and safety nets in place to assure adherence to new standards. Fundamental Change!

TheVoiceOfJoyce The SEIU Union is needed in every Nursing facility in every State. 1.8 million elderly & those associated with Nursing Homes died from Covid. Friends work in facilities where they clean & care for 10 patients, even if they have Covid. Abuse for profit has been happening for years. It’s time for standards of care to be published and enforced. Orthopedic rehabilitation occurs in Nursing facilities , too! It’s tragic. Some facilities don’t have proper dining options and don’t cater to those with systemic diseases. Coupled with Covid, the burden on staff was too great. Nursing Homes require Fundamental Change, Legislation codifying standards of Care. SEIU can show what’s required.

TheVoiceOfJoyce Governor Northam of Virginia has restored voting rights to those previously incarcerated. In NYS we’re taking “the first steps” toward decent treatment of Parolees by passing the Less is More Bill. 6 Senators have not signed on yet nor have 76 Assembly members. Why? The Bill asks for humane treatment of parolees, curtails recidivism for minor infractions and requests counseling, not jail time for addiction problems. It’s time to enter the 21 st Century and embrace citizen re entry to society rather than lame excuses to send 7500. Back to prison. Decency pays. There would be a $670million cost saving attached to racial justice.

TheVoiceOfJoyce Gun violence claims 45,000 lives yearly. Half those of those deaths are suicides. Not only do we need counseling, trauma therapy & other support options, the majority are in favor of background checks & the banning of Assault weapons and large magazines, capable of shooting many with one clip. Americans need and want Fundamental changes to our lives. The majority want to live a good life and not be terrorized by those who don’t value their lives or the lives of others. During this Holiday season, why not think about compassion, empathy & charity and ask those in Congress to do the same.
