TheVoiceOfJoyce 31 days of extreme heat in Arizona. Wildfires out of control in California and Nevada. Ocean temperatures in excess of 90 degrees Fahrenheit. This is an emergency. We can sue the Fossil Fuel Industry for lying about the consequences of burning fossil fuels and we can start reducing their subsidies to finance programs to save life! When I attended a Techonomy Climate Conference in March, I think attendees were optimistic, when they stated we have 5 years to reduce our dependence on Fossil Fuels. If we don’t declare a Climate Emergency now, who will remain? Climate change effects us unequally. The poor suffer more then the middle class. Staying indoors, with air conditioning , during a heat wave, is not a solution. Declaring a Climate Emergency now, save lives.

OHSA Laws haven’t kept up with employee misery during extensive Heat waves. $500 Billion in lost productivity. How many $Billions in lost lives, property, agriculture, water and land use? Fossil Fuels must be abandoned ASAP , along with their subsidies. We can work smarter, provide monetary incentives for EV’s, heat pumps, trees, nuclear power. Once we make a decision to go renewable energy and develop new products, more Americans will benefit, along with the rest of our Planet.

TheVoiceOfJoyce Florida and Houston, Texas politicians are creating educational deserts. Teachers are leaving Florida schools, voluntarily, to avoid Governor DeSantis absurd standards of education. In Houston, the school board has decided to close Libraries, fire Librarians and use Libraries for detection centers? What a horrid memory for poor kids. Associating libraries with detention, when libraries and books are to be cherished as places of learning,stimulating curiosity. There is nothing more enriching for growing kids and adults then reading books. I know, I’ve never stopped reading and learning, nor should you. With 53% of Americans reading at only the 6 th grade level, we’re under preparing kids for the future. Why are these politicians supporting poor education? It benefits their chances of re election. It’s a fact, children prefer authoritarians. Why support learning and curiosity, when an educated populace will vote you OUT!

These public areas were contingent on allowing Developers to add extra residential or commercial space. The developers gained $10 Billion extra in valuation, New Yorkers, nothing. Cure this inequity by back taxing developers, based on their property assessments today. New Yorkers are also losing revenue from 450 apartments assessed at $25 million +, pre pandemic. A young Navajo couple are planting nutritious corn, squash, melons on their property and making their own Baby Food, Bidii Baby Foods ( Birth, Education & Nutrition). With a grant from Save the Children, their farm will feed 10,000 kids. They’re also expanding into medicinal herbs to maintain blood pressure and provide maternal health. The Navajo’s know how to care for the earth. Perhaps others can learn from them ! Today, Bidii Baby Foods is available in IHS facilities across New Mexico, Utah and Arizona.
