TheVoiceOfJoyce Greenland has become the new “go to “ place for rare earth mineral resources. The problem, Greenlanders value their way of life and want assurances that mining will not disrupt the uranium deposits embedded with some of the rare earth. They are fiercely protective of their land and way of life. Though mining would bring a more diverse economy, they’re concerned the miners won’t be honorable and extract minerals without disrupting their environment. The way forward, may include cautious oversight of limited mining operations. Careful planning and their decision on which rare earths may be extracted for wind turbines and electric vehicles. Greenland, because of climate extremes, is now sitting on the source of power for Clean technology. Who will develop their resources and export them, depends on Corporate &/or individuals integrity. The Local PM, an indigenous native, will be a tough environmental advocate to convince.
