TheVoiceOfJoyce The rebuilding of Norte Dame is occurring using the knowledge and logs, hewn by hand, in Guedelon, an ancient town creating artisans using 13 th Century tools. Logs, from these areas, were hand carved in the 13 th and 14 th Century. 25 yrs ago the crafts were resurrected and today, these artisans will train and create new artisans to carry out the rebuilding of Norte Dame. The work may not be finished by 2024, when it is finished, using these ancient techniques and the forests of this region, Norte Dames roof will last another 800 yrs. Our history, informs the present. Luckily heritages and artisans have the tenacity to maintain their visions and insist on doing what’s right, not expedient.
