TheVoiceOfJoyce As Russia urges the evacuation of Kherson, fierce fighting is taking place in Donetsk and the East. Missiles continue to destroy Ukrainian power grid throughout the previously annexed territories. Kyiv is suffering from rolling blackouts and if the grid is out , their citizens will be evacuated to shelters and heating centers. Good news, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is back on line. Russia has just replaced another high ranking Military commander and the destruction of Ukraine continues. The US is in the midst of opening peace talks and Italy continues to send weapons. Those who demonstrate against the War are misguided, in my humble opinion. If Ukraine wants Peace they must demonstrate strength. At this point, I don’t believe Putin wants the Country he destroyed, nor does he want to spend Russian funds rebuilding Ukraine. Peace may be desirable to end this no win conflict.

More positive news was the re-connection of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant to Ukraine’s power grid, local media reported Sunday. Europe’s largest nuclear plant needs electricity to maintain vital cooling system, but it had been running on emergency diesel generators since Russian shelling severed its outside connections.

In the Donetsk city of Bakhmut, some 15,000 remaining residents were living under daily shelling and without water or power, according to local media. The city has been under attack for months, but the bombardment picked up after Russian forces experienced setbacks during Ukrainian counteroffensives in the Kharkiv and Kherson regions.
