Last night I was on a call with Chuck Schumer and 6 other activists organizations planning strategies to defeat the GOP gutting of our healthcare system in order to provide tax cuts for the wealthy and large Corporations. I and others say, No and for good reason.
Medicaid is a necessity for 69-72 million people. In West Virginia a 90% white population, millions of adults and children rely on Medicaid. It’s cost effective and essential. What happens when you take away healthcare, community health services disappear. There’s a ripple effect and soon the State will experience massive unemployment.
When looking at NY State , 7 million use Medicaid, remove Medicaid and SNAP programs and we’ll have poor healthcare for 50% of our population and we’ll have massive unemployment.
It’s time to call all GOP congressional legislators and let them know they don’t have your vote,if they proceed with unnecessary draconian healthcare cuts . We’re tired of paying for the wealthy and their ability to transfer their wealth with our lives .
A healthy society is a productive society. Maintaining the public’s health is Job #1. You destroy our health and you destroy our Country’s economy.
