Getty, French Consulate in Los Angeles, and Villa Albertine Sign New Multi-Year Cultural Partnership
Getty, the French Consulate in Los Angeles, and Villa Albertine have renewed a three-year agreement to cross-promote French-related exhibitions and programs through 2028. The collaboration will highlight French-focused exhibitions at Getty, support cultural exchanges, and connect scholars, artists, and museum professionals. Recent collaborations include La Surprise: Watteau in Los Angeles, Camille Claudel, A Persistent Pioneer: Hippolyte Bayard, and Gustave Caillebotte: Painting Men.

Presenting Villa Albertine’s 2027 Residencies
The calls for applications for Villa Albertine’s 2027 residency seasonare now open!
From January through December 2027, Villa Albertine will host 50 exploratory residencies of one to three months across the United States, supporting creators, researchers, and cultural professionals pursuing original projects in the fields of arts and ideas.
Four calls for applications are open: General Call, Crafts & Design, Classical Music, and Arts in the Age of AI.

Museums Next Generation (French Candidates)
Last chance to apply for the Museums Next Generation 2026 program! French or France-based museum professionals can apply for a two-week experience to explore American museums in Chicago, Detroit, and the East Coast in 2026. Seven participants will engage with museum practices, foster French-American dialogue, and expand their international networks. Applications close November 27, 2025.

The 2026 Prix Albertine Jeunesse Shortlist
Discover this year’s vibrant selection of Francophone youth literature shortlisted for the 2026 Prix Albertine Jeunesse—a program inspiring young readers to explore stories in both French and English. This annual readers’ choice award invites children ages 3–11 to vote for their favorite French titles translated in English. With enchanting stories like Window, Hekla & Laki, and Magda, Intergalactic Chef, the 2026 shortlist celebrates imagination across languages.
Teachers can register their students to vote here until December 19.

CinéSchool 2025 – 2026
Back for its fifth edition and part of our French for All initiative, CinéSchool is a free digital program for K–12 French teachers in the U.S. that supports language learning through French-language cinema.

Albertine Cinémathèque 2026-2027
Apply to Albertine Cinémathèque to access six films from this year’s selection for campus events and festivals, and invite filmmakers to engage with students.
Part of our French For Allinitiative, the program supports French film festivals on U.S. campuses with a curated list of acclaimed films. Selected applicants will be announced in early spring 2026 alongside the new film selection.

Call for Projects ¡Viva Villa!
French cultural organizations can now apply to the ¡Viva Villa! co-production fund to create projects with artists, creators, and researchers who have completed residencies at Casa de Velázquez, Villa Medici, Villa Kujoyama, or Villa Albertine. Projects can take any form—exhibitions, performances, concerts, publications—and must include at least two artists from different residencies. Funding ranges from €5,000 to €20,000. Launching Our 2026 Calls for Visual and Performing Arts Projects this December
On December 1, we will launch our annual calls for projects in the visual and performing arts, supporting artistic collaboration, innovation, and exchange between France and the United States. Etant donnés grants champion contemporary visual art exhibitions and curatorial projects, fostering dialogue across borders. In the performing arts, the Theater & New Forms and FUSEDprograms nurture creativity in all its expressions—from theatrical productions and contemporary dance to indoor or outdoor circus performances. Albertine Musicfurther strengthens these exchanges by supporting collaborations between French and American musicians and ensembles, spanning jazz and classical music, from Baroque to contemporary creation. Rediscover Night of Ideas 2025: Atlanta Podcast Series
On October 10, WABE—Atlanta’s NPR station—released a three-episode podcast series on Night of Ideas 2025, now on Apple, Spotify and WABE’s site. Guided by the theme “Common Ground,” the series revisits the evening at Goat Farm through live recordings, interviews, and immersive sound design. Presented by Villa Albertine and Goat Farm with WABE, supported by the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, and in collaboration with ASHA Advisory.
