AmericaSpeaks TheVoiceOfJoyce Extreme Heat waves, a heat dome, extending from Texas to Mississippi is engulfing the South with triple digit temperatures and high winds. The Midwest and Northeast have poor air quality advisories because the Canadian wildfires are still raging and this is an early beginning to their wildfire season. Our summer will be hot and smokey. According to a Guardian survey, this weather is causing short term illness and exasperating chronic conditions. People are feeling unsafe and unprotected in their homes and communities. Our suffering can be alleviated by altering our energy grid, agriculture and manufacturing. If Fossil Fuel Companies maintained their equipment, we’d see an immediate reduction in Carbon and Methane emissions. Why should we continue to suffer immeasurable harm, when we have solutions for controlling Emissions and reducing Weather Extremes? #PoliticsAffectsUS

AmericaSpeaks TheVoiceOfJoyce The Supreme Court will not defer to the State’s interpretation of Election Law. Perhaps more states will be compelled to redraw their electoral maps to reflect the real demographics of the State. For 10 years, the States controlled by the GOP, have consistently written Laws restricting access to voting and population representation. This ruling will make it more difficult for States to suppress voters and subvert elections, without adequate oversight from state courts. However, without passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the Freedom to Vote Act, legal challenges to State Election Law will continue. The Court only suppressed the extremes.

The western part of NY State will be affected with the worst toxic air pollution coming from Canada. More then 19 million acres have burned and the fire season isn’t over.

Family Village, is designed to limit trauma and encourage trust in a new environment. Specialized support is available to limit extreme stress, giving people a sense of self worth and independence. The Mental Health Centers of Denver, Sanderson’s Apartments, built in 2017, was an early pioneer of Architectural Design influencing behavior. It works. Perhaps even large cities and jails could adopt this concept, returning more people to a productive life? If we think it, we can do it. Follow Germany’s example.

Our infrastructure requires upgrades. Bridges are collapsing due to floods, Power when it shuts down in extreme heat causes an ability for us to remain hydrated, wildfires create intense pollution, drought causes water and crop scarcity. The good news, we have solutions. We can alter how we make steel. We can enforce safety on our facilities and cap emissions. We can curb methane gas by altering a cow’s diet. Change is a necessity and people are speaking and being heard.

It’s presumed heavy rains and flooding may have damaged the bridge, prior to its collapse. The EPA and the National Transportation Board are investigating the spillage of toxins into the river. WiFi in Montana was also affected. Water was diverted away from farms and households. The bridge next to this one, was torn down in 2021. Now that Federal money is available, it’s a good time to check all Infrastructure and rebuild as necessary.

It’s clear, if we don’t decrease carbon emissions to zero, we’ll continue to experience food scarcity, wars over resources, bleaching of our coral reefs and a decrease in biodiversity. Change their business model and let “We the People “ determine who controls our data.
