The people of Kherson were not happy to be under Russian occupation. As in other regions of Ukraine, the trademark of Russian occupation, remains, in addition to land mines, booby traps, lack of food, water, medicine & electricity, mass graves were uncovered. 400 people have been shot and thrown into mass pits.
Zelensky has promised peace for all Ukraine and intends for his troops to push on! The Ukrainian army offensive has not stopped. Ukrainian’s are waiting to return to their cities and if possible, to their homes.
Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskiy spent thirty minutes on Monday morning visiting the newly liberated city of Kherson, days after Russian troops withdrew from the city over the River Dnipro to the southern portion of the Kherson region. During the visit, the president said “We are moving forward,” as he addressed troops in front of the administration building in the main square. “We are ready for peace, peace for all our country.”
Russian forces destroyed key infrastructure in Ukraine’s southern city of Kherson before retreating, Zelenskiy had said in his nightly address. Russia troops “destroyed all the critical infrastructure: communications, water, heat, electricity” he said in his latest national address. Kherson’s mayor said the humanitarian situation was “severe” because of a lack of water, medicine and bread. Zelenskiy said authorities had dealt with nearly 2,000 mines, trip-wires and unexploded shells left by Russian troops.y
