The Federal Government can put pressure on monopolies by promising a windfall tax on excess profits. Big oil and gas, have made record profits, they’re not investing, they’re giving shareholder buybacks. Why encourage their behavior, lower pricing at the pump by removing Subsidies and instituting a Windfall tax, for Corporations making huge profits, while passing on high costs to consumers ! Why should the 80% experiencing inflation, suffer from Corporate Greed? Give working people a chance to survive and thrive.

TheVoiceOfJoyce I quite agree, the Planet is in a Climate Emergency now! It was predicted, by the Frank Press report in 1977, that the year 2000 on, would experience Climate Heat, flooding, die offs of life unprecedented. It’s happening now. 2000 died last week in Spain and Portugal. Billions of marine life died in the Warm Pacific Ocean and off the Coral reefs of Australia. Water resources are diminishing. Crops are dying in the West, EU, Asia, India, Africa. When will our Politicians notice and start our path to alternative clean energy? Why are we still Subsidizing the Fossil Fuel Industry at $16Billion a day? A $Trillion dollars to Fossil Fuels would be better spent on transitioning Coal Mines to Solar and Wind Energy, utilizing people and clean energy now! How many have to die, before our Countries take Climate Action seriously?

They’re starting small but they might want to add a movie night for discussion? The documentary “ Big Oil” produced in 3 Parts by the BBC & aired on PBS Frontline, is now streaming on Amazon prime. Ministers can also, lead the way to energy conversion of decommissioned coal mines. Solar Panels and Wind Turbines can integrate with existing infrastructure and produce jobs and sustainable energy. There are cycles in industry. Man and science evolve and as we discover better forms of energy, they replace the old. That is the nature of scientific discovery. Trust in our future. If we desire to survive & thrive, a lot can be accomplished, even in a year. Lockdown improved Hawaiian waters and brought back song birds to many towns. Change is occurring and that’s good. After over a 100 yrs of fossil fuels dominating our grid, it’s time to move on. The Scientists of the late 1970’s were right, the year 2000 would see an exponential rise in CO2 Emissions and that would cause catastrophic warming effects. It’s happening today and it’s cheaper to move forward with many alternatives, rather than rely on Fossil Fuels for our power!

TheVoiceOfJoyce WHY ARE WE SUPPORTING THE FOSSIL FUEL INDUSTRY? They make $2.8 Billion a day, accumulating $54 Trillion in 50 yrs or 1% of the World’s wealth. They’ve stopped investment in alternative fuels to maintain their wealth at the expense of our Planet warming, at the expense of polluting and dissipating our Natural Resources. They have enough money to buy off every Politician on our Planet to maintain their dirty profits. As a reward , for Fossil Fuel largesse ( graft, corruption) Governments subsidized them , add $16 Billion a day to their coffers in SUBSIDIES? The US provides them with a $1 Trillion a year? Wouldn’t this money be better used to help we the People survive the price gouging we’re incurring, the child care we need, the min wage and benefits we deserve, the transportation and preservation of our Natural Resources? Action on the elimination of these Subsidies is a priority! TheVoiceOfJoyce: The Planet is heating rapidly. Dry conditions in Europe are seeing fires from Portugal to France and intense heat over 100 degrees Fahrenheit temperatures even in England. More people hospitalized for heat stroke. While in Alaska, less people are effected and so far 3 million acres of forest have been destroyed. The forest floor is hot and dry and coal, or peat, deep under the forest floor is burning. The pollution is effecting everyone’s health. People must wear respirators outdoors to avoid burning their lungs. Fires are still raging in California, too! NYC is experiencing one week of intense heat and tropical thunderstorms. Scientists are watching these conditions, CO 2 Emissions are rising. We can’t afford not to take notice of these events. More importantly, we must start implementing changes that stabilize the Planets warming trend. We need water and food, clean air & clean water. Don’t watch, act to improve our lives. The planet improved tremendously in one year of theLockdown, start integrating Solar and Wind turbines with the electric grid, using the Coal mine infrastructure. Start now and save lives.

TheVoiceOfJoyce Issuing a stake in Federal subsidies to Chip makers makes sense. How much money would be returned to taxpayers and how would it be spent? Why can’t we retroactively tap into the Trillion dollars subsidies of of the Fossil Fuel Industry and reduce pricing at the pump or decrease their Subsidies by 50% until they include renewable energy in their product mix. The Federal Government and taxpayers should benefit from the Subsidies and real estate tax breaks from Big Agricultural Firms, lower prices at the market would be welcome, here, too! There’s a lot our Government can do to lower costs to the Consumer and it’s necessary when Corporate Greed is responsible for higher pricing to the Consumer. Why not target all Corporations doing business with the Government, if their CEO’s make 2200 Times their employees salary, the Federal Government might levy a 10% tax, funding tax payer relief? If the microchip industry gave back equity to the Federal Government to benefit taxpayers, how would the government structure this return on investment? Can this structure be applied to all industries getting Governmental Subsidies? Or all industries doing business with the Government? It’s time “We the People “ benefit from Government largesse, too!

The Uber Papers, details his campaign to persuade World Leaders to accept his service , while knowingly putting his employees in harms way. If Uber employees were threatened with Violence, he believed that was the price they should pay for the Uber Corporate placement. It appears Kalanick believed he was above the Law and raked in Corporate Billions, while giving his employees minimal pay and destroying the Local cheaper, preferred existing Taxi service market.

AmericaSpeaks TheVoiceOfJoyce Finally there is a reverse of Corporate Business taxation. Corporations have many loopholes to evade taxation overseas and in fact, limiting Corporations taxation overseas encouraged the off shoring of business and jobs. Corporations with subsidies overseas pay 5% on their income to the US Treasury. The American taxpayer is in a lose lose position now. First we lost jobs with every trade agreement, then we lost jobs when Corporations moved overseas and we lost wages when American workers were told to compete with foreign labor. Now, just like individuals who are taxed twice on income invested, the American Corporations are asked to pay their fair share and bring business back home, they’re crying that what’s already happened will happen again? Why should American business not share equally in taxation as the rest of us? America needs revenue to run . Next the Federal Government should tax all Corporate income for FICA deduction irrespective of income level. Every employee of a Corporation should pay the FICA deduction, independent of salary level. Everyone should pay their fair share. It’s patriotic!
