High levels of minerals and other toxins are causing algae blooms rendering the River water and ground water, unsafe for drinking or swimming. We the People have small government, hollowed out governing agencies & Corporate self regulation. Corporations work to sustain their profits. The Social Media Platforms are neo liberal. ( no accountability, self regulating and support small government) Therefore, according to existing Law, they can’t change, their power over the data they collect and the content they allow, on their platforms, belongs to them and not us. Congressional misinformation makes them billions. All data that’s controversial, creates influencers and those influencers attract millions, and make millions for themselves, and the Social Media Platforms they choose. You want to preserve our Democracy? You want to stop the Culture Wars? Change Section 230 of the Communication Law and write new Laws, regulating what can be transmitted on Social Media platforms. The worst offender is Meta/Facebook. They won’t willingly relent. Remember Facebook partnered with Cambridge Analytica to understand Facebook’s role in Election & voting decision making. Cambridge Analytica funding came from the Mercer’s, conservative leaning billionaires. TikTok is now removing political parties, politicians and campaigns from their site. Twitter is also stopping political ads somewhat. The others? Only Laws will restore ourDemocracy and decrease culture Wars. Do you want to hear the truth or lies? Do you want Democracy or Corporations to decide what information you see? The Social Media business model , wants no regulation and unlimited power. They have more power and money than anyone else. Do you want them, to make life choices for us? Or, Do you want to be an informed citizen and make your own decisions? It has long been alleged, that Google sells our data to 3 rd Parties and those 3 rd Parties pay revenue to Google. Based on our behavior, we see “ Google ads selectively prioritized. These ads, may not be ads originating from the UK or the Netherlands. The Google ad roster may not benefit local newspapers or small businesses from the region of search. Those newspapers and businesses have been deemed by the UK & The Netherlands to have been harmed. The government’s are suing Google under the new Regulations, seeking damages of $25 Billion. TheVoiceOfJoyce This will be one of many cases against Meta/Facebook and other Social Media platforms. When we agree to their terms, are we protecting our rights to privacy or are we signing our rights away. Facebook and the other media platforms make money from our data. They sell our data. That is their business model. Would we know what we read, when we signed, I agree? Do we want control over our data? I think we do. I don’t want to be targeted for goods and services relentlessly, do you? Nor do I want to be manipulated politically? Do you? Remember a 100,000 ads were targeted to Trump followers in 2016. If you watch those ads , it’s very possible, you’ll believe what you see. What if what you see is not truthful? Would you believe misinformation?

TheVoiceOfJoyce The analysis: Fight Corporate greed and not working class people. Personal borrowing to purchase goods has increased. The consumer can’t fight monopolies. The Federal Government can put pressure on monopolies by promising a windfall tax on excess profits. Big oil and gas, have made record profits, they’re not investing, they’re giving shareholder buybacks. Why encourage their behavior, lower pricing at the pump by removing Subsidies and instituting a Windfall tax, for Corporations making huge profits, while passing on high costs to consumers ! Why should the 80% experiencing inflation, suffer from Corporate Greed? Give working people a chance to survive and thrive.

How Big Oil, Exxon, Successfully lobbied Congress in 1997, to protect their self interests , convincing Chuck Hagel & Robert Byrd, to sign their Legislation, stating the US would not join in signing the Kyoto Climate Policy. Due to continuing Corporate Lobbying and PR, the World and the US in particular is suffering the effects of Weather extremes. Our land is burning, our resources are dwindling, our food supply is imperiled because of Short term Corporate Greed. Worse, they researched the solutions to prevent Global Warming and discarded them, because they were not instantly as profitable as Fossil Fuels.
