TheVoiceOfJoyce Another mass shooting in America, this time it’s a Walmart store. There’s lots of Legislative decisions Congress can make to make our lives safer. Extensive background checks, physical and psychological evaluations, Red Flag Laws, automated data base for gun owners ( If you drive a car, boat or plane, we’re registered and carry liability insurance) and ban the sale of automatic weapons and large magazines. Automatic weapons used in mass shootings are used to fight wars. Why should Americans fear for their lives? Why should we be the only Nation with 45, 000 lives lost to gun violence?

Tuesday night’s shooting in Chesapeake also brought back memories of another at a Walmart store in 2019, when a gunman police say targeted Mexicans opened fire at a store in El Paso and killed 22.

A database run by the Associated Press, USA Today and Northeastern University that tracks every mass killing in America going back to 2006 shows this year has been especially bad. The US has had 40 mass killings this year, second to 45 that occurred in 2019. The database defines a mass killing as at least four people killed, not including the killer.
