TheVoiceOfJoyce Phoenix has always been hot, not as hot as last year when 456 people died from the heat. Heat deaths are up 36% from last year and people being evicted and forced to live on the streets is partially causal. The number of people forced out of homes by rising rents, has risen to 1000’s. Honolulu has a similar problem and they’re looking at all the factors contributing to heat deaths with a target of Zero deaths. They’re looking at all the factors leading to heat death: lack of affordable housing, homelessness, substance abuse, inflation,inadequate shade. After assessing the data, Honolulu will provide solutions to reach Zero heat deaths. Community heat deserts can be alleviated with Community involved plantings during cooler months. Cities can negotiate a moratorium on evictions during these economically difficult times. The poor vulnerable heat extremes disproportionately more than those living in more gentrified areas. The poor people deserve a life, too!

If Corporations were humane, gave a living wage, increased cost of living pay, gave healthcare and paid sick day and provided a safe work place, we wouldn’t need to Unionize every industry in our Country. However, American Corporations only think of their profit margins and people, employees, are dispensable. Not any more. We the People, don’t have to be treated poorly or intimidated. Document abusive behavior toward you. Take photos of your work place, keep records and when you can vote Union, do it. A stronger NLRB would encourage sectoral Unions, one shop or warehouse unionizes, they’re allUnionized. No need for separate voting. America, we have short term problems brought on by Corporate Greed. Corporations here are monopolies without competition. They charge whatever they can, while keeping labor wages low. It’s a win win for a few. In the 80’s Volcker raised interest rate to curb inflation and it wasn’t until America was plunged into Recession, that the government raised taxes to get us out of the Recession. Both the US and UK should take a policy lesson from the 1980’s, start taxing Corporations now. Go to 28% and close loopholes. Then, it won’t matter if labor get a long deserved increase in pay and benefits. Labor needs these increases to survive. Americans need Corporations and the top 1% to pay their fair share. A 2% tax on the top 1% assets would add billions to the IRS. A 28% tax on Corporations should be the first step towards taxing Corporations. Their free ride, is making it impossible for too many Americans to survive. Raising interest rates is one tool in the Federal toolbox. Another tool is raising Corporate taxes. Then fund the IRS to collect the tax. I always thought, this country needed to put 1000’s of auditors to work and collect the trillions in tax evasion. America should not be inadvertently plunged into Recession. The poor and the middle class need a social safety net. We can have it “all”.

The Social Media Platforms are neo liberal. Congressional misinformation makes them billions. All data that’s controversial, creates influencers and those influencers attract millions, and make millions for themselves, and the Social Media Platforms they choose. You want to preserve our Democracy? You want to stop the Culture Wars? Change Section 230 of the Communication Law and write new Laws, regulating what can be transmitted on Social Media platforms. The worst offender is Meta/Facebook. They won’t willingly relent. Remember Facebook partnered with Cambridge Analytica to understand Facebook’s role in Election & voting decision making. Cambridge Analytica funding came from the Mercer’s, conservative leaning billionaires. TikTok is now removing political parties, politicians and campaigns from their site. TheVoiceOfJoyce Mapping heat deserts in NYC, shows areas of intense heat in the South Bronx and other poor areas of NYC. it can be 8 degrees warmer in these areas, then other areas of the City. In heat deserts, there is no shade and 370 people die annually from the heat. Why can’t we provide an alternative energy source to poor people, heat pumps, air conditioning and plant trees? When and how can all the people be recognized, seen and helped to survive? Can the City or a non profit help save poor lives? This year is predicted to be the coolest of the next few years. AmericaSpeaks TheVoiceOfJoyce Weather is causing severe heat in the Southwest and West. Death Valley to reach 126 degrees Fahrenheit. Georgia sees flash flooding and the East is getting rain. There is a climate emergency. We made it, we can fix it. If 150, 000 still live in Jackson Mississippi, they need water. Army Corps of Engineers? It’s not acceptable to say , they’ll experience worse. In NYC , NYCHA housing in the East Village have arsenic in their water. I wonder, how long has the arsenic been there and are the surrounding areas effected? How are we removing the arsenic & when? Our infrastructure is crumbling and like industry years ago, there was no preventative maintenance. That’s unacceptable today, too many lives rely on clean water and clean air. Where are the funds to repair our Infrastructure for the 21 st Century?
