TheVoiceOfJoyce Day 298, the Ukrainian counteroffensive is working. Even when Russia unleashes 90 missiles, the Ukrainians manage to keep the lights and water on in Kyiv. A dome is being built around the Zaporizhizhia Nuclear Power Plant to protect spent nuclear fuel. There is a permanent UN mission stationed around the Plant. Russian morale is low and it hasn’t stopped them from stealing the Scythian Gold from Ukrainian museums. Since Putin isn’t giving his “normal “ New Years address to the media, he must be contemplating a Peace or an advance, possibly from Belarus. Putin has lost. No matter how many more lives he sends to die, his cause is unjust, the Ukrainians have shown their desire for being separate from Russia and part of NATO. An unintended consequence of Putin’s War, NATO has enlarged and is taking on more members. Why choose isolation, Putin? There is always a way out and a way forward?

This tactic was deployed to save Kyiv from further hardships. Zelensky is asking for the Patriot Defense Systems or the Iron Dome, they’re being bombarded with 1000’s of missiles destroying key infrastructure. Russia is still insisting they own the territories they annexed, though they occupy less then 50%. Fighting is fierce in Donetsk. Putin isn’t ready for Peace and Belarus is preparing a combat ready training mission on their borders. Why now? While Europe prepares for another onslaught of Ukrainian refugees, many Ukrainians are staying home waiting for the promised generators and eventual withdrawal of Russian troops. It’s been reported that the Wagner groups headquarters has been bombed along with strategic sites in in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Russian troops use human shields when fighting against Ukrainian forces. Odesa is without power and amidst the background of this existing War, the Wagner group is seeking information on the borders of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. In Russia, a major shopping mall was destroyed by a Russian arsonist. The Russian military are discontented and Joe Biden will send firepower to protect Ukrainian skies and forces. If This city and Mariupol fall, the Ukrainians have a clear path to recapture the Crimea. These aggressive moves were directly related to the destruction of Odesa’s infrastructure. 1.5 million people will be without power for days. There is no quick fix. With increased rocket power, the Ukrainian forces are quite capable of achieving land and air superiority. Personally, I wish them success, leading to a Russian ceasefire ,withdrawal and peace.
