The Red Wall is Crumbling
If you want to know which way the wind is blowing for the 2026 midterms, don’t just look at the national polls. Look at where the support is rapidly growing.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has just updated its “Red-to-Blue” target list, and the panic inside the GOP is palpable. Historical trends are already weighing down the President’s party, but for two specific Republicans, the situation has gone from “difficult” to “disastrous.”
One is a clout-chaser in Florida who forgot to do her job. The other is a wealthy careerist in California who just had his safe seat legislated out from under him.
Here are the top two most vulnerable Republicans in the House, and the candidates poised to replace them.
1. Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13): The “Influencer” in Freefall
Anna Paulina Luna has spent her entire term treating Congress like a stepping stone for a cable news contract. She has been more focused on Twitter engagement and picking fights with her own leadership than bringing federal dollars back to Pinellas County.

But the math is finally catching up to her.
- The “Underperformance” Problem: In the last election, Luna significantly underperformed the top of the ticket in her own district. While other Republicans surged, voters in FL-13 split their tickets because they are tired of her specific brand of chaos.
- The DCCC Target: The DCCC has officially marked FL-13 as a “prime flip opportunity.” Their internal data shows that her approval rating has tanked as cost-of-living issues in Florida have skyrocketed. She ignored affordability to focus on culture war stunts, and voters noticed.
The Solution: Earle Ford
Earle Ford is the exact opposite of Luna. He is the “Billionaire Buster” and a former IRS tax attorney who spent his career auditing the ultra-wealthy. He is serious, policy-focused, and ready to work. He is polling within the margin of error before the election year has even properly started.

2. Darrell Issa (CA-48): The Carpetbagger Who Got Caught
Darrell Issa isn’t just losing because of the map; he is losing because he is the literal embodiment of everything voters hate about Washington.
California voters shook the political landscape with the passage of Proposition 50, a redistricting measure that has completely reshaped the battleground. For decades, Issa has hidden in a gerrymandered fortress. Those walls just came down, and his true record is finally being exposed.
- The “Texas” Reports: Nothing says “public servant” like plotting your escape. After the new maps dropped, it has been reported that Issa discussed abandoning California entirely to run for a safer seat in Texas. He treats congressional districts like vacation homes, something to be swapped out when they become inconvenient.
- The Richest Man vs. The Working Class: With a net worth estimated over $250 million, Issa is consistently ranked as one of the wealthiest members of Congress. Yet, his voting record is a war on the working class. He holds a lifetime score of 10% from the AFL-CIO, having voted against the right to organize, against wage increases, and against workplace safety protections.

- Anti-Choice Extremism: In a district that is now arguably pro-choice, Issa is hiding a radical record. He has consistently co-sponsored “personhood” legislation that would ban abortion nationwide with no exceptions, earning him an A+ rating from extreme anti-abortion groups.
The Solution: Brandon Riker
Brandon Riker is an economist and small business owner who has been grinding in this district for years. He didn’t need a map change to know Issa was bad for the economy, but he will certainly take the help. Riker’s economic populist message is perfectly tailored for the new voters Prop 50 just added to the district.

The Bottom Line
This isn’t just about picking up two seats; it’s about defining the entire election.
Anna Paulina Luna is the test case for “Performance Politics.” If we flip FL-13, we prove that voters are done with internet celebrities who ignore the cost of living. We prove that the era of the “Influencer Politician” is over and that competence still matters.

Darrell Issa is the test case for “Fair Maps.” If we flip CA-48, we prove that even the wealthiest member of Congress cannot buy a seat that wasn’t rigged for him. Prop 50 leveled the playing field, and now we will see if an economic populist can defeat a corporate billionaire in a fair fight.
These are the two pillars of the GOP majority, distraction and money. If we knock them down here, the whole house falls.
