Please acknowledge NESRI’s platform and I ask them to Join with America Speaks, our “new ” Political Party,  under one banner for American’s .

Dear Joyce,

On this Human Rights Day, economic inequality continues to tighten its grip on families across the United States. Forty-two percent of working people in this country are making less than $15 an hour in precarious, often unsafe and unstable jobs. Though the grip of economic inequality is affecting many Americans, women and communities of color are bearing the brunt of the inequality crisis. From Detroit to Baltimore even such ordinary tasks as cooking and bathing have become a daily struggle for thousands of vulnerable families being denied their human right to water.

Celebrating the 67th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in these challenging times requires fighting for a unifying human rights vision side by side with the communities most impacted by injustice. While the United States has the shameful accomplishment of boasting the world’s largest wealth and income inequality gap of any industrialized country, it also has the opportunity to seed deeply transformative social movements.

Those seeds are being sown right now as part of the struggles of workers, students, parents, neighbors and many others all across our country. Together with our partners, we are a central part of this struggle as we work to turn the tide, whether its strengthening the right to education, building alternatives to ensure housing as a human right or empowering workers to effectively demand safe conditions with dignified wages. Today, we celebrate our human rights ideals and victories as we continue our struggle to realize human rights for all.

In solidarity,

The NESRI Team
