Joyce America Speaks Periscope @11am Does the Fox News Channel dispense News? Change the Channel and hear something different!
Why do some people watch and believe Fox News? I question whether it is a powerful media tool used to propagandize the right’s message, our President’s message and not daily news and analysis? Much of the news is not even presented. Where is world news and their thoughts on foreign and/or domestic policy? Where are the facts?
How do I know those listening to Fox are not getting all the news and/or facts? I read the news all over the globe. I’m skeptical of the truth and concerned as a journalist that I provide my followers with accurate factual news. The facts are important to me. I’ll spend hours tracking news stories to confirm their veracity.
That is who I am and who my followers are. We value the truth, not fake news or fake facts. We don’t want to live in a state of denial. Look what happens when you deny the facts.
Several weeks ago, London experienced their worst fire in a high-rise residential apartment house because landlords and the government ignored vital facts about aluminum clad buildings. At last count, 76-80 people died. Why didn’t anyone review the facts? Why was this cheaper, dangerous method used when this product was banned in other nations? We will learn the facts though many more may be hurt and injured while we learn.
You’re probably thinking, what does this have to do with Fox News? Who’s going to suffer? Are the stakes equally high? Life and death? The short answer is Yes. Why?
I listened to a Fox News disclaimer on the Russian interference in our elections. Despite all of our intelligence evidence of Russia’s hacking into the 2016 elections, Fox is pushing its version of false news pretty hard. I keep wondering why? What do they gain by misleading people? What do they gain by supporting Trump no matter what the personal cost to Fox watchers and believers? They create an atmosphere of us v. them.
That’s simply not true. Whether you are white, black, yellow or brown, whether you live in rural or urban America, if you’re poor, working poor or part of the dwindling middle class, we’re all suffering together. We’re all underemployed; we’re all concerned about healthcare, education, infrastructure, and good paying jobs.
Don’t just listen to Fox News. If you do and you’re not like the rest of us grazing the news, you’ll never know when you should be concerned about current events. Whether you stay in your media silo or not, crisis and politics will affect you! It affects all of us.
Fox is very clever in their denial of the facts. Read my Twitter Posts of the news from around the World. Then you’ll be informed and understand that your increased knowledge is pro America and Pro Democracy . Why accept anything less? You have the power to turn the channel and participate in the Democratic process, why be a bystander, when you can write your own story? Try PBS. it’s unbiased. Or read the Financial Times or the Washington Post.
I’m not an ideologue. I try to seek out the truth and provide unbiased facts.
Have a great day. See you at 11 am Monday.
