When did Democracy become politicized?
The right to vote is every Americans right and Democracy is based on our right to vote! Our American experience is enhanced when we are informed on the issues and take part in understanding how our Institutions work. As John F. Kennedy stated, “Ask not what your Country can do for you, but what can you do for your Country.” JFK, also believed, “The ignorance of one voter in a Democracy impairs the security of all.”
Virginia has gotten voting rights correct.
- Felons who have served their sentence can vote, adding 90,000 eligible citizens.
- 45 days are alotted for no excuse absentee ballots.
- Election Day is a Holiday. No Voter ID required.
- When you register to drive a car, you’re automatically registered to vote. Voting made easy!
“Why we Mistrust Institutions”
Ethan Zuckerman, the author, gives one simple answer, Transparency and citizen involvement. If you don’t like how something works, he suggests, get involved and seek answers. It’s easy to be against something, but hard to fix it.
Speaker of the House: John Boehner
John Boehner’s new book, ” On the House”, discusses the “old” GOP vs the GOP crazies who came to the House in 2013. He doesn’t want to see Democracy die or bipartisanship in Congress. He’s going to run against a Trump GOP candidate in Ohio and J.D.Vance, the author of” Hillbilly Elegy” and a philanthropist , is running for another Ohio House seat. Their aim, resurrect negotiations for fundamental change.
Fundamental Change
For the People Act or HR1, (the Voting Rights Bill that will codify Voting Rights in our Democracy is Priority #1 for me), to be enacted by July, along with the Jobs Act/Infrastructure Bill , which will jump start our Economy. Details to follow in other episodes.

The right to vote is everyone’s right. No one has more right than another. Support your local grass roots and do whatever it takes to restore our votes and the truth. Since Corporations are people, I’m glad to see them raise their voices in support of Democracy.
