On Sunday, Nov 16th, we were proud to stand with People’s Action as over 1,000 people across 18 locations in Illinois demanded AT&T end its multi-million-dollar contract with ICE and CBP. (Check out this video of the day of action!) Our actions amplified the message that we won’t stand for corporations profiting off the pain of our communities. But the work is not done yet.
Here are two ways you can help this campaign escalate:
- Sign and share the pledge: Text “DROPICE” to 51767 to join our pledge to not buy anything new from AT&T or upgrade any existing plans until they drop their contracts. Please share this pledge on social media and send it to 5 friends once you’ve signed!
- Join a store canvass December 12th – 14th: Join or host a canvassing event outside of an AT&T store in your neighborhood December 12th through 14th to urge customers to join our movement.
Here’s how to launch a canvass near you.
- Step 1: You can find an AT&T store near you and pick a time (1-2 hours) that works for you over the weekend to canvass. Recruit a friend or two to join you!
- Step 2: Register your own event through this link so others can sign up to join. You can also check out this list to see if there’s already a canvass in your area.
- Step 3: Look through the canvass toolkit and print out the flyers & see the scripts, tips, and all the materials you’ll need!
- Step 4: If you’d like additional support getting your canvass going, you can join a virtual training tonight Dec 8th at 8 pm ET, or Thursday, Dec 11th at 6 pm ET.
