My cousin said , 2026 will be interesting and I want this year to be interesting, in a good way! Together, I believe “We the People “ can force Trump to relent.
We can and must ask for an accounting of his illegal Military activities. Are the funds taken from the Dept of Defense or adding to the Federal Deficit?
We need an accounting of DOGE activities and the extent of their damage and surveillance? At what cost.
Ditto for ICE.
There’s a lot to be done and we know, the 2026, Midterms are our most important test of our Democracy.
How many who voted for Trump are ready to change sides to preserve Democracy and restore our Middle Class? It will take time to implement programs to reduce the power of Trump and his regime. We’ll have 2 years to return our economy to more affordability and to lessen high prices and inflation. With Jerome Powell continuing in office, our Economy will stabilize. Policy changes reflecting a more equal society and opportunity, depends on many factors.
Hopefully, this January all SNAP BENEFITS will be paid and the ACA INSURANCE PREMIUMS lowered.
In Iran the people are protesting a regime that leaves individuals without water and services, while the Ayatollahs rearm? They’re protesting for 3 days, asking for a return of their Monarchy. Reza Pahalavi is encouraging the People to continue protesting and to start rolling strikes. This is a news story in progress.
We have power, too! We have a large population, when we unite, we can prevail.
I believe, based on polling, the majority wants good paying jobs, affordable healthcare, affordable housing, education for everyone and less toxicity in their backyard and affordable energy. We can continue to pressure our Congressional Legislators, federal and state, for change.
A few days ago, I reprinted Robert Reich’s blog on the injustice of the Capital Gains Estate Law. However, this law doesn’t apply to only Billionaires, it applies to million dollar estates, too! There are many ways taxes can be fairer and we can try all of them to make a more equal society. Late Stage Capitalism is not sustainable. We must vote for legislators who will make the changes we want.
I, also, took a chance on sharing, Live from the Resistance, a political blog that chooses interesting individuals to run on the Democratic ticket. They’re not necessarily affiliated with the Democratic Party and I’d like your feedback on their policies and candidacy.
I’m going to work toward obtaining interviews with Candidates running for office and work toward promoting more protests. It’s sad, if we miss acknowledging the police who died in that attempted Coup on January 6 th. Rise and Resist is protesting in NYC . Any of your cities planning a non threatening protest? Event?
Numbers count. The more people protest the more coverage we’ll get. Americans can no longer be strong silent types. We must share our stories and let our neighbors know what’s bothering us and what we’re needing.
I don’t believe those of us in the Middle and Lower Classes are more privileged than others across our Country. People in cities are finding living conditions unaffordable and so are people in rural areas. Hopefully, we’ll seek common ground and understanding.
Best wishes to everyone! Thank you.
