Next Friday, May 1, 2026, workers, students, and families across the country will rally, march, and take action to demand a nation that puts the working class over billionaires, with many refusing business as usual: No School. No Work. No Shopping. Find an event near you!
May 1 will be a coordinated day of action. Our demands:
- Tax the rich. Our families—not their fortunes—must come first.
- ICE out. No private police wielding unchecked authoritarian power.
- Expand democracy. Voting belongs to the people, not corporations. We must defend free and fair elections, rather than rigged electoral processes that only benefit the 1%.
Here’s how you can get plugged in for May Day:
- Sign the May Day Strong Pledge

- Find the nearest May Day Strong event and share it with five people you know
- Donate to groups like Union Now, which works to organize workers
This day of action is a great opportunity to challenge the same oil and gas billionaires who pollute our planet, bankroll abuses of power against working people, and fund authoritarianism.
“Our ideal climate future requires that we fade out fossil fuels and other environmentally harmful products that have been baked into our infrastructure. This means we must have other energy sources in place. We have quite the transition on our hands, and we all seem to agree that it should be a Just Transition.
Climate needs the support of labor, and labor needs security during this transition.
A just transition requires sustainability in the workplace as much as it requires sustainability in an environmental sense. While the road towards a just future may be bumpy, there are already resources in place to make it possible. But climate and labor MUST work together to make it a reality.”
