TheVoiceOfJoyce May Day Strong is organizing protests marches in Montgomery Alabama on Saturday, May 16 at 1 pm. Join them. Also, 36 Governors are being voted into office this year, there are 26 Republicans and 24 Democrats. Don’t let one Republican win. This is Freedom Summer redux, Register and Vote in overwhelming numbers for freedom, justice and Democracy!

Hi joyce,

We showed what’s possible on May Day, thousands of actions, millions of people, and a clear message: this country should put workers over billionaires.

This week, we need to take action again. In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to gut the Voting Rights Act, Southern statehouses are resurrecting Jim Crow and erasing Black representation and democracy along with it. Tennessee barred the doors as it took the last majority Black district off its map at the same time judges struck down a referendum that gave voters better maps in Virginia.

The billionaires in Washington don’t need to outright steal the election in November if they disenfranchise voters ahead of time. And that’s exactly what they’re trying to do.Because of the massive pro-worker and pro-democracy movements we’re building, they’re working overtime to turn the country backwards and they’re attacking Black voters in the South first.

We need to take a stand. If you can go to the day of action in Montgomery, Alabama, thousands are joining a march to say ‘It is our turn to march for voting rights and take a stand’.

Join the Action this Saturday

Thousands more will be taking action directly in their communities. You can register an event or sign up for updates at allroadsleadtothesouth.com

It’s not a coincidence that this is happening now and it’s not a coincidence who is being targeted first. They’re counting on the places where they have a stranglehold and they’re counting on our movements allowing regional and racial fault lines to divide us and slow us down. We have to show that this movement understands the moment, recognizes Jim Crow when we see it, and we won’t be silent.

In solidarity,
May Day Strong
